Hi,

I have had an unusual Migraine the last One month. It has been notorious on the weekends and sometimes recurring during the week evenings. Tried thinking hard what I do different over the weekend but, Nothing.

Each time, it easily lasts more than 3 hours.. and I always have to sleep it Off. Only pains on the left side of the head and makes me feel as if my left eye wants to pop out... Plus a feeling as if the veins stretch to a point they want to break.
I really believe m not stressed (though people say you wouldn't know if you were) smile
It worries me and now have no option but to see a doc immediately.

Possible to advice what type of Physician to see? Exact Doctor suggestions are welcomed (if within my Cover, I will consider him/her).

Thank You.

Life is joy, death is peace, but the transition is very difficult.

You will likely need to see a neurosurgeon...
But that does not mean they will go away soon it will be a while, you will be put on some drugs, Betaphyn, Syndol, Immigran, etc etc... these drugs will make you drunk especially Betaphyn...ni kama kuwa na hangover from God knows where...its a disaster. But i feel you...
The other thing you need to do is just be more aware/vigilant of what you eat, for some people could be cheese, some wines red/white, stress levels, change of lifestyle, sleeping patterns list is endless... It is you to know.
The other thing you need to do if you are not doing is start exercising, run, run, run, your ass off...this for some people helps...
All the best if you are luck yours will subside and even go away...migraines suck!

NB: the experience of waiting for the neurosurgeons is not fun at all, the queues...be prepared...you could try Dr Jowi at AGH, or DR Kwasa I think at general accident house.

Again all the best!

While one may need to find out what's really happening to you as a whole, the case of treating your condition is easy and direct in 'natural medicine'. There are techniques to strengthen your nervous and endocrine systems, and techniques to enable you to Ward off migraine 'triggers'. And you can save long term costs by easing into a lifestyle that helps you prevent other diseases and conditions.

I can help, if you wish.

Generally, i've not had a problem though I use computers and gadgets (with screens) all the time.. for this, I always endeavor to reduce brightness to a bare minimum..

I wouldn't rule out my eyes actually... But tuone Daktari atasema nini.

Looks like I'll have to see a GP first who will then (if necessary) refer me to a "Specialist".. thats according to my cover..

Thank you.

@webish...as you seek medical advice, try and identify the trigger. I was here last year and I used to feel like dying. same left side of the head and the left eye...I used to sleep sometimes crying coz they were so sudden and "from nowhere" or so I thought. But with the help of some lady doctor (who believes migraines are triggered by something) I identified my trigger... from having them almost twice a month first half of last year, they went to once a month towards the end. I took pain killers only twice last year when I was almost sure I would die if I didn't. Haven't had one this year and am praying this holds for the next 3-4 years when I can sit back and take it easy. When I feel the pressure building up, classical music works for me and I put "everything" away... something I could hardly do. Good luck with yours.

Care to share what was your trigger? I have been trying to identify trigger. Initially thought it was dust (in UpperHill, this makes me crazy uncomfortable)...Keeping away from exhaust smoke. and I also immediately stopped/suspended using my favorite fragrances just incase they were irritating me...One month now, Nothing.

I'm so young that I wouldn't want to believe I have work related Stress/Pressure.

@Muriel, great music, huh?

My trigger...without going into details,...change of lifestyle from being the "programmer" to being "programmed" and I could not stand not being in control (when you are used to being the teacher and suddenly you are the student kinda thing....) So, the pressure to prove that I could do it, perform and be at the top of the game crept in... (the bold especially smile )

...it could be one little thing that makes you "overthink" unnecessarily. But like I said, seek medical advice as you try and identify if there is a trigger.

Sorry for your pain.Seek medical advice first. If its not something physical,I find the trigger is usually fear.

Thank you. Will do. You mentioned fear and it reminds me of an exam I plan to attempt end of year... Really hoping that m not 'overthinking'...or too worried..

Need to rule out 'physical' 1st...

Many thanks to all. As always, can be quite comforting to know I'm not the only one, or the first one..

Will appreciate even more feedback .

It's good to rule out the physical if the opportunity is there. If it's 'overthinking' or worry, some alone time to decongest and have an honest conversation with myself(at my own pace) always helps.
