Youth structure is the way to go for Kenyan football to be able to compete within the continent. AFC and Gor must lead the way and have strong youth teams. Kenya ni yetu sisi sote

When you say that we have no swagger in matters football, unaitwa mchukizi (hater), but the reality was starkly put by Esperance. Kenya needs to think long and hard on how to resuscitate football in this country. No only is this performance disappointing, but the recent fiasco over Harambee Stars match in Sudan just shows how hopeless the situation is. And it is not just about money! Great men are not always wise, neither do the aged understand judgement...

Best supported yes, best team is another story..we need stats..how many wins were aided by dubious penalty calls and threats to referees by fans ** wears helmet

K'Ogalo like most KPL teams (including Harambee Stars) lack stability in their squad. At the beginning of each season they get rid of almost half the team and bring in new players, they don't give players enough time to develop.

Esperance buys players for up to Kshs. 100M, they were simply better, K'Ogalo simply lost to a better more organized/proffessiional side. Locally Gor will easily retain the league, that I can confidently say. ..."Wewe ni mtu mdogo sana....na mwenye amekuandika pia ni mtu mdogo sana!".

I watched Sofapaka destroy Al Ahly an African powerhouse at Nyayo Stadium two or so seasons back so money in itself is not a reason especially given that Gor Mahia may be the richest club locally.

You must be dreaming. No Kenyan team has ever come close to eliminating Al Ahly. True AFC beat them 1-0 in 1986 after having lost the first leg 6-0.

Esperance with their 18 million Euro budget are simply miles ahead of Kenya. Note that they also beat former African champions TP Mazembe 6-0 The write up below breaks down what happened http://gormahia.net/late...ered-plenty-of-lessons/

@ecstatcy Sofapaka clobbered the living daylights out of Ismailia not Al Ahly. But I agree with you, millions of money should not be an excuse. Supersport chapad Man City in a friendly last year.
Kogalo simply capitulated in this one.

Sofapaka 4 - Ismailia 0 "Former premier league champions Sofapaka became the first Kenyan team to eliminate an Egyptian side from continental football after beating Ismaily 4-0 to advance to the next round of Orange Confederation Cup at Nyayo Stadium on Saturday." CAF Link dated 04/02/2011 - http://www.cafonline.com...-eliminate-ismaily.html
The correction on Egyptian team done, the point stands, Sofapaka proved it is not necessarily a question of money, the same stands with Gor Mahia.

Kogalo simply capitulated in this one. True that. TP Mazembe made history by becoming the first African side to reach the Club World Cup final. What is their budget comparative to the likes of Barca, Bayern or Real in Europe or those South American teams? Just this past year [2013], Raja Casablanca made it to the finals of the same Club World Cup with a shoe string budget when compared with the European and South American teams. There is a lot more to African football success stories than money.
