It's all about cattle rustling. And it's the kaleos who are always the culprits - the luo never steal from kaleos. In the current case the raiders came from Kericho. I understand that one suspected kaleo rustler was lynched by nyakach residents and the kaleos retaliated by killing several luos, burning their village and sugarcane plantations. And just the other day the Nyakach MP's parents were killed and the blame was placed on cattle rustlers.
Iam sorry to say this but it's always a problem when you have kaleos as your neighbours. I have some kin in Molo and Njoro and life has been unbearable since kaleos were settled in the Mau and became their neighbours. My kin can no longer keep livestock due to theft, not to mention the 'marauding house-burning and cattle stealing' warriors at every election (except 2013).

Blanket condemnation of a whole community? You are lucky there are no Kaleos in wazua. How did your kin land in Molo yet it is common knowledge Molo is Kaleoland?

Historical injustices!

The land was forcefully taken away from the indigenous owners and when we got independence the land never reverted back to the original owners.
Quote:
The genesis of the infiltration of the scheme by the “big fish” arose from an order by President Kenyatta in early 1964 that all colonial farmhouses together with 100 acres surrounding the farmhouses be reserved for “prominent people” alongside poor farmers. In the settlement scheme Central Province, for example, simply disposed of their land or assigned it to relatives in order to qualify for the cheaper and comparatively larger settlement plots in the Rift Valley

Nothing demonstrates the ethnic tension fuelled by skewed land ownership in Kenya more than the findings of the Akiwumi Commission of Inquiry established in 1998 to investigate the ethnic clashes related to the 1997 elections (Akiwumi Commission, 1999). The Commission reports that as early as 1957, the settlement of the Kikuyu community in the ancestral Kalenjin areas of larger Kericho district (Londiani, Kipkelion, Fort Tenan) had reached significant levels, with the District Commissioner’s annual report noting that tension was already growing between the two communities over land (Akiwumi Commission, 1999: 15)

Kaleos population here is very high. It's only because ni watu wangwana. Unlike most of you here who can die for a fellow tribes man even if he is a guilty of a crime. kales can't do that. They investigate first then act. So watch this space.
Politics is just things to keep the people divided and foolish and put your trust in men and none of them can do nothing for you...
