The MICEX was up 5.19 percent at 16.00, Moscow time, with the RTS adding 5.93 percent. This marks a major turnaround from Monday, when the ruble-based MICEX dropped 10.79 percent on Monday, and the dollar-based RTS index fell 12.01 percent, the lowest level since September 2009. On the same day the ruble hit an all-time low against both the dollar and euro. Most analysts attributed the fall to the growing tension over Ukraine.

Just watched the interview on bbc world a few minutes ago. There was this guy who said that the Russian economy has, at its heart, lot of corruption which directly benefits the so called oligarchs who then invest most of their proceeds in London. He says that, for every pound stolen from Russia, up to 99pence are invested in London. For this reason then, London would not want to take any action that would jeopardize such capital inflows.
Life is like playing a violin solo in public and learning the instrument as one goes on.

May be u need to understand what/where downing street is.

Obi, Putin sees no need of gettin physical Europe is already in a fix. Note Kerry is alone

I do know Downing Street. What am suggesting is that maybe that paper was photographed as a means of leaking the information to test the waters.

What waters? Would they risk being seen as traitors?

Truth is they all thot they had Putin cornered they dint expect ths reaction nw all are reviewing what they have to lose.

true. the leak is ridiculous and is clearly a deliberate move to pacify putin. europe is hesitant to piss off the russians. the americans are shouting hoarse but they know their citizens are too far away and disconnected to be as affected as the europeans.
