USA is just too much talk with nothing to show, while Russia is action pap!!!!

Just the other day, what did USA do after all the threats in Syria?

How about the Russia's invasion and crushing of Georgia over the South Ossetia (The Caucases) separationists ( by the way, this Crimea case is an exact replica of the Ossetia one).

USA are just cowards, threats everyday, but very afraid when Russia coughs!!!!!!!!

Your "analysis" is devoid of facts and filled with conjecture. Let me school you
Defense budget USA USD 515 T , RUSSIA USD 43 T
PERSONELL USA 1,385,000 RUSSIA 1,245,000
FIGHTER JETS USA 22,700, RUSSIA 6,500
NAVY SHIPS USA 1,600 RUSSIA 525
Russia cannot compete with US militarily.
One more thing, US has not decided on what actions it will take against Russia yet.

@Captain, where is the analysis in what i stated? Let me repeat what i stated above;

1. USA threatened to attack Syria, what happened? What was Russia's role in the entire situation?

2. If you were born before 2008, you would have known the South Ossetia situation and what happened. Go read what Russia did, and what USA did.

F.Y.I, defence budgets, personnel and equipments are top secret. So, how credible is your source!

Finally, what i had stated had nothing to do with Russia fighting with USA, NO! Its just; "Russia acts whilst USA just makes noise. And when Russia acts, USA goes MUTE!"

Young man, punguza pressure!

Referring to Russia's attack of Georgia as a sign of international power is laughable. Georgia is a small country the size of Central province somewhere in the middle of Russia. The US on the other hand controls the worlds oil, has fought many wars halfway around the world and swings its will as it wishes.

But even with all its power, the US cannot beat Russia at home. The cost for such a war could be too high for them, and their decisions are generally driven by the almighty $. They have no strategic interest in Ukraine and I assure you they will not bother even if Putin kills every single Ukrainian.

They will watch as Russia fights the Ukraine and hope that both countries burn to ashes so they can swoop in and pick their carcases.

Putin, is overplaying his hand here, he needs to be carefull as he could end up ruining his country economically. Russia cannot pacify Ukraine militarily, they couldn't even defeat Chechnya and had to use chemical weapons

The Russian legislature has even recommended that Putin recall their ambassador from Washington. US &EU will likely slap Russia with sanctions. Russia's membership in G8 might also be reevaluated. This will impact negatively on Russian businesses operating in these regions and its economy in general. I expect Russia to win the battle but lose the war.

Wait for that to happen.

Britain will suspend its participation in preparations for a G8 meeting in Sochi after Russia violated Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, British Foreign Minister William Hague said on Sunday.

Canada, France and Germany will soon follow. If @murchr cannot see sanctions, he must be blind.

Several US members of congress have suggested the following:
Sanctions against Russia.
Kicking Russia out of G8.
Freezing Russian assets in the USA.

The problem is that Russia supplies Europe with fuel and this can be used to retaliate against EU & US.

The US may have a stronger army than Russia, but neither the US nor EU is insane enough to want to go to war with Russia. Even if NATO wins, it will be a Pyrrhic victory. With nuclear weapons involved, millions of European lives and trillions of dollars in property/infrastructure could be lost. They would bomb each other into the stone age.

Exactment! Diplomacy calls for more than just applying what's on paper. We should not even imagine it.

Russia is allies with China and North Korea. All have nuclear capability with missilles that can reach american airspace. Add some middle east into the mix. The US and its might cant handle that.
The US is seriously indebted to China.
Sanctions against Russia will never happen, as that may encourage an eastern bloc, and maybe a reunification of soviet states.
Me thinks america will be mum on this one.
Peace in our Homeland.

The US cannot invade Iran, or North Korea let alone Russia. They keep a large military because the military and the satellite industries it keeps afloat provide employment to huge numbers of citizens; Otherwise it makes no sense maintaining a military of that size in peacetime.
The US army is on record saying they dont need a consignment of equipment coming their way. The Congress sent them anyway. In Afghanistan, they build advanced HQs with computers and other equipment then abandon those facilities to rot, because they cant shut the supply taps. If they do, people in factories are furloughed. In conclusion, the size and might of the US military is of secondary importance. It is a product of factional politics and not military strategy.
