The death of the innocent pedestrian should not be treated lightly. Aren't there other ways the police could have handled the situation. Police should stop acting out what they see on movies and have a better way to stop such situations from recurring.

Curiosity killed rat and will kill Kenyans(Nairobians) at one point.

Surely, why do people crowd at such scenes yet they can watch news later and get more details than they can get by pushing to see?

I happened to be in the CBD when the shootout was taking place, and sadly people were dashing towards the direction of the shootout and craning their necks to 'see'. No amount of sensitizing the public on keeping off danger works in this cbd of ours.. We're way too curious for sanity. The day you're shot is when you realize these bullets sio zile za majimaji rebellion

Gawking instead of running for cover is an interesting aspect of Kenyans. Even when bullets start flying, Kenyans are busy rushing to the scene. Maybe its because they no longer have walk in movies in mitaa to satisfy this fetish for violence.

During my heydays in praimo, they always had walk-in movies in Eastlands and other mitaa. They would put a big screen and all of Makongeni estate would come and watch those action movies that had an advertisement for Omo or Kimbo every 5 minutes.

One day just walk on the streets of Nairobi and then stop, put up your hand and point at the sky while looking up like the picture below.

Don't say a word. Just give it 2 minutes and you will have a crowd around you and there will be experts amongst them telling the others what you are looking at.
