This is a very big issue. Our mps should act even faster in order to jail this monsters.
The law should also ban the media from constantly bombarding us with fagot stories . Let's keep our media free from this filth.

Wow!

I can see the Wazua haterati are on a roll here.

How does an act that two consenting adults do in the privacy of their bedrooms, a victimless 'crime' as the Wag says, qualify a human being to be called a monster fit only for the confines of jail?

Our constitution clearly bars anyone one from discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation.

The Bible commands us to love one another, that includes gays, blacks, robbers etc.

Don't these words mean anything?

Lets ban, burn and castrate all gay people. It's in the Bible.

As that is being worked on, lets elect thieves and murderers as MP's.

God will understand.

Let us also lobby our mps to throw in jail those who engage in sex before marriage. It is wrong, for the bible tells me so.

Currently bigamy is an offence

You got no issue with that

Yet...you find it backward for UG to legislate against homosexuality? Both are personal issues!

On development, priorities etc, who said UG can't legislate that while still passing their finance bill? Do you suspend other parenting roles and just cater for their material needs?

These gays sure are sharp. They're winning over too many of you, too easily.

This thing ceased to be a bedroom issue a long time ago. They come out of their closets and created a culture. They now conduct their affairs in the open , seeking recognition, even conducting marriages.
The worst part is that they are now trying to force their culture to us and our children by force in the name of human rights.
paedophiles and rapists also have a sexual preference, should we allow it in our society?
Yes , let this monsters practice their trade in the confines of their jail cells. They can even have their own wing in prison.

The statements above, other than somehow reminding me of similar arguments that have been used to justify hate as far back as the inquisition are simply not true.

But let us assume that you are right and Gay people are demanding the same rights as other humans. How exactly does this threaten you and your way of life? After all heterosexuals have been 'out of their closets' for as long as one can remember and I don't see anyone asking to lock them up.

Pedophiles and rapists are criminals, same as thieves and con-men who prey on others. In which way are Gays criminals? They engage in consensual acts, same as you do and, the last time I heard, don't force their lifestyle on anybody. Or have you a victim of such?

By the way statistics indicate that, if you are an adult and live in a society, you have interacted with at least one Gay person in the past half year. Which of your friends, colleagues, acquaintances, family etc would you like to put in jail?

The two statements are rhetorical - I am neither a Christian nor a constitutional expert.

But I would certainly like to see our resident bigots try to spin their way out of the Biblical injunction by Jesus, to 'love one another' and how this squares with their hatred of Gay people.

Just for entertainment, mind you. smile

I am christian and very much against some lifestyles like homosexuality.
But when we start legislating on individual lifestyles. we are missing the plot as secular states.

...a christians worst fear.. Sharia law

What will give us moral ground to say no to sharia law when we legislated one on homosexuality and dresscodes.

No need for you to say no to sharia law, because it is already recognized in our constitution, even before you were born. And it does not affect you at all. Sharia Law, just like customary law, handles matters of marriage, divorce and inheritance, only to those those who profess Islam.

If a muslim commits a crime, he won't be taken to Sharia court, but to criminal court. If a christian commits a crime, he will be taken to same criminal court... But when a muslim marries another muslim, they'll be married under Sharia law.

So no need for you to have sleepless nights and hate. Please check it out and let me know if you find anything illegal about Sharia Law on marriage, divorce and inheritance.

You claim to be a Christian, what does the Bible say about dress-code? It seems you've not been reading it, ah!

What a lot of people do not know is that this is American politics being fought in East Africa.
The legislation was written and promoted by David Bahati, a member of the Ugandan Parliament. According to scholar and writer Jeff Sharlet, Bahati—who has said he wants to “kill every last gay person”— is a core member of a secretive network of American evangelical Christians called “The Family.” The Family sees its aggressive, worldwide evangelism embodied in the saying, “Jesus didn’t come to take sides; he came to take over.” The organization has also referred to itself—proudly—as “the Christian Mafia.” For over 75 years, its goal has been the “consecration” of America to God. But facing defeat in the American culture wars, The Family and its ilk looked elsewhere—including to Uganda.
