think some of us underestimate the power or they don't know what it is NEWS!

according to my dictionary news could either mean...

1. recent information
2. current event
3. programme
4. somebody or something interesting
5. something previously unknown

tell me is this not bound to affect the market?

@cnn - pole... IMHO the prices of KPLC & Carbacid (tho at 280/- seems too rich for me) moved coz of good results as well as POTENTIAL going forward...
**** At 140/- I think KPLC is a steal...

as Tony said.. news in itself will not move price for as long as said news is not factored into the price..in a majority of markets arbitrage information exists and there is always someone with information that others dont..i say again traders move markets..news moves traders

Talking of news moving the markets, why is the price of C.M.C not moving upwards with the news that they just sold a handsome number of Passats just before the closure of books? I thought this would translate to better divideds...

Of course news move the market, especially in a market like ours that is full of too many short term investors, translating to,SPECULATORS!

Its like the brokers are sleeping on their jobs of providing advice, they are just preying on the commissions, hence trying to get as many transactions as they can without keeping in mind the impact on the investor.

News can also be indirect,eg. The fact that Centum acquired a big chunk of Carbacid that is doing very well means positive news on the Centum stock. You just need to lookm @ the news in 3D.
