Life is like playing a violin solo in public and learning the instrument as one goes on.

If you think hard, you will find it odd that the first hour of day is in the middle of the night! The clock of the old swahili wazees is more sensible, the first hour starts to lapse soon as the sun comes out. ..there is a clear demarcation of light and dark.
And really there is no sensible explanation why 00:00 is at midnight,..they pulled that one out of their ass...it became a convention that we now follow, just like London's Greenwich is the 0 degree longitude. Why not Tokyo or Machakos?

You are so right. Just like Kiluhya, Kingereza, Kikamba, Kijaluo and so on and so forth. In English they become, Luhya, Englis, Kamba, Luo na kadhalika. I think Kikuyu is still Kikuyu. Maybe Gikuyu in English.
