Mwangi will be vindicated when it all blows up again in the Rift... and this time round it wont be 'Kenya is burning'... It will just be the Rift... nothing but the Rift, two distinct and clear boundaries.
There shall be no railways being uprooted, no WaBara being evicted, no Kenyans running to Uganda.

It will just be at the Rift. just the Rift!!!!

I pray it never happens. But I am not stupid. We are not helping much to solve the problem. We are burying the problem, hoping to do more patch work 'if' it ever reoccurs again.

Sad but true...

People are gloating yet Boniface was one of the few brave Kenyans to publicly protest the excesses we are seeing in this country. For some time, he and the other activists were the only opposition 'party' and they tried their best.

CORD was in disarray immediately after the election loss, the media was in bed with Jubilee and half the middle class was busy singing the praises of Uhuruto. So the fact that only he and his group were protesting made him look isolated.

It must have been so frustrating seeing Kenyans complaining but doing nothing about it. Key for me was his protest against Atwoli when he stood up and shouted while the rest of his gang/ nearby Kenyans abandoned him as he was manhandled by hired thugs. Nobody raised a finger.

This is the sad part about activism- most Kenyans will think one is a madman for standing up to protest. Remember Wangari Maathai and the Green Belt movement in the 80s and 90s? The lady was called all sorts of names and even lost her university job.

My advice for Boniface is to leave Kenya with his family and move to another country. Wherever he goes he should make a determination to avoid following Kenyan news for a year or so; this will allow the torment he's experiencing to subside. In time he will come to terms with the fact that Kenya is this way because its people have allowed it to be so
