Are we still discussing this..

USAID is a direct arm of the US government. So it has to tune its operations to the policies of Washington which are nothing but, having a government as friendly to the US as possible.
Washington changed tact along time ago over how to topple governments, they don't send the CIA with secret weapons to assassinate, or arm rag tag militias. That was the 60's 70's and 80's

Nowdays the 'change' has to be seen to come from within...but for the interest of the Washington
Anybody here ever read or connected the Republican Institute and its manoeuvres in Egypt? http://goo.gl/dVL70T
The democratic Institute?

Any think tank you know of acts to the advantage of its mother country. no matter how humanitarian it programmes.

If it doesn't happen that way then, internal divisions would be the best option and that is why i laugh when i hear Kimems saying two or 3 people want to topple the GoK.

I have stated before. It would not take much for any world power to maliza us, we are already disintegrated enough as a nation, our only binding factor is poverty.

The Northern Frontiers (Turkana, Pokot, Marsabit etc) are ripe for conflict all you need is to arm a few militia there and have them declare semi autonomy
Northern Kenya can simply be left to Alshabaab to keep KDF busy.
Coast is already a powder keg ready for direction, Pwani si Kenya, Al shabaab etc
Western Kenya would be all too glad to have semi autonomous status if money came in from somewhere.. That leaves Kenya just around Nairobi.

So seriously, breaking up this country does not need street demos. If the world powers decided it has to be. It will be.

The problem here is GoK insiders (wenye nchi) and the real world powers are trying to strike a balance.
I am thinking the West is saying, "If you must eat, Eat within our circles and influence' while Kitchen cabinet thinks there are cookies even in the East, North, South, Inside... so waachwe wakule!

while we (our politicians) work for short term (every election cycle, 5-10yrs) gains as Individuals (family) in Afrika. the think tanks work for the longterm benefits of their businesses and countries.. 20 years. 40 years.. etc

@poundfoolish, well said. Kenya is a very easy country to effect regime change compared to the islamic north africa and middle east.

If USAID is involved in this, i also see it as simple warning shots to the Uhuruto Govt for them to toe the line in the business deals. It looks like USA is interested in a peaceful Kenya as long as US interests are taken care of unlike the policy for north africa/middle east.

Maybe once the turkana oil begins to be exported, the US policy towards kenya will change since US policy towards countries with oil is quite harsh eg venezuela, north africa, middle east.

Thank you.

Wazua admin did their investigations and found out I was a die hard member of USAID.

They had KDN to prove it.

But honestly, who comes up with some of the nonsense in the headlines these days. The worse part is that someone who can type can actually entertain it.

Kamotho was much much mush mash better.

It's done well in health for KE - where it is currently cutting it's county health support programme budget by upto 10% for starts.. - which obfuscates from other core objectives. What it does in the name of governance matters would never be allowed on it's own soil.
