I would have expected Team Otoyo's to be hanging on this thread like nothing else. But I check and alas!

Ama wazua has the third 'The real otoyos' well represented?

We had a long running thread on opinion polls that showed how divergent results from two pollsters supposedly sampling the same population could be. Citizen's Monday Special brought some of these inconsistencies to the fore with provincial variations between 'scientific polls' of 30-40% (insane!). It is an unfortunate, uncomfortable but sadly irrefutable fact.

Positions on an opinion poll in Kenya are sometimes fairly predictable depending on whether one perceives their candidate as a victor or loser in the elections. Overt and covert Odingaists will be pricked with any conversation insinuating that RAO lost while overt and covert Kenyattans will be pissed on anything indicating UK did not win. That is understandable as some people are emotionally invested in their preferred candidate.

Obviously these discussions cannot change the results of the last election. We should not however shy away from critiquing each past/present/future opinion poll and pointing out potential areas of strength/weakness.

That is how civilizations evolve.
All my friends are heathens, take it slow. Wait for them to ask you who you know. Please don't make any sudden moves.

@pound what you are displaying here ni machungu ya kushindwa which is understood.Loosing in anything not just elections in hurting more so when opinion polls suggested otherwise.

Tom was not obligated to be diplomatic in his language......after all he was biased towards RAO from the word start. If I remember well the close to 100% turnout was in some sections of Nyanza....so I am not sure who rigged.

My conscious and that of many others is very clear. We won, we got 50% plus 1 and the margin was over 800, 000 votes. And IEBC, Mwalimu Mati, UN Observers etc confirmed this.So exit poll reports one year later is non sense.

@bigchick.. Waht you are displaying here is a conscience cleansing engagement which is understood.
The notion that what you consider individual and collective efforts to wake up at 4 and start queueing, to stand in line for 8 hours and cast that vote, so lovingly with a tear to boot, was not the factual deed that put your candidate in the coveted post can be quite unsettling.

Who has refused there was rigging in Luo Nyanza? I haven't.. There was rigging even in Machakos but you know there is honor even among thieves. there are some levels of play that even thieves themselves find unfair.
For your information turnout was 75% acceptable rigging standards were 80%, but it had to be pushed to 95-99% to attain the +1 votes (4000)..
Go through the voting pattern and see for yourself, usikubali tu nikuambie.
It tells you how bad the massacre would be if all thing were done above board.

So the truth is you voted. but that was not enough, your camp rigged better, manoeuvred using state resources and attained 50+1%

In the words of Martha wa Karua "it was a case of, who is the bigger thief" that was in 07
