This is how the intake was 1. Kilungu district...1 student 2. Makueni county...17 students 3.Rest of kenya...72 students..

Just continues to show that the current leadership doesnt know dot about how to run the educational system and are refusing to admit that either they are absolutely incompetent or whoever designed their computer selection program is a fraud or corrupt money is allowed to destroy the lives of young innocent class 8 graduates!

???????? I think this was the case with Nyeri county that's why they went to court. It would be interesting to know who the 72 from the rest of Kenya are, will not be surprised if it is the who is who. Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.... Nairobi county alone has 44 students... ...The students from Makueni county passed so well. So the question of whether they merited to be selected or not is out.

Hakuna maneno ya merit hapa... the school should first and foremost benefit the residents, then the county and the rest of the country in that order!! otherwise where are the kilungu/makueni students supposed to go? Huyu Kaimenyi angolewe pap!! When I have money, I get rid of it quickly, lest it find a way into my heart.

That form 1 selection for this year was an absolute sham! Most counties (and districts) couldn't get their best students to good schools. Number of students picked and their home districts (For a National School in Nairobi)1 - AWENDO, BARINGO NORTH, BUTERE, EMUHAYA, GARISSA, GATUNDU SOUTH, IMENTI NORTH, KAHURO, KANGEMA, KATHONZWENI, KEIYO SOUTH, KEIYO, KIRINYAGA WEST, KISII CENTRAL, KISII SOUTH, KITALE MUNICIPALITY, KONOIN, KURESOI, KYUSO, LAIKIPIA EAST, LAIKIPIA NORTH, LARI, MAARA, MANGA, MARAKWET WEST, MATHIOYA, MBITA, MBOONI EAST, MIRANGINE, MOLO, MSAMBWENI, MT. ELGON, MUHORONI, MWINGI CENTRAL, NANDI CENTRAL, NANDI EAST, NANDI NORTH, NJIRU, NYAMIRA NORTH, NYANDARUA NORTH, NYERI SOUTH, NZAUI, RACHUONYO NORTH, RONGAI, RONGO, SABATIA, SIAYA, SOTIK, STAREHE, SUBA, TESO SOUTH, THIKA MUNICIPALITY, TRANS NZOIA EAST, UGENYA, VIHIGA 2 - BURETI, BUTULA, EMBU WEST, GITHUNGURI, IMENTI SOUTH, ISINYA, KERICHO, KIAMBU, KIENI EAST, MAKUENI, MATHIRA EAST, MIGORI, MOMBASA MUNICIPALITY, MWEA WEST, NYAHURURU, NYAKACH, NYANDARUA WEST, RACHUONYO SOUTH, TRANS NZOIA WEST 3 - BUNGOMA EAST, DAGORETTI, ELDORET WEST, HOMA BAY, 4 - BORABU, BUNGOMA SOUTH , ELDORET MUNICIPALITY, GILGIL, KIBWEZI, LANGATA, MAKADARA, MAKINDU, NAKURU MUNICIPALITY 5 - WESTLANDS 6 - ATHI RIVER, NAIVASHA 7 - KAJIADO NORTH, KISUMU MUNICIPALITY 8 - NYERI CENTRAL 9 - KIRINYAGA CENTRAL 10 - MUMIAS 11 - KAKAMEGA CENTRAL 12 - KASARANI 13 - RUIRU 22 - EMBAKASI TOTAL - 257Surprisingly, 182 are from private schools and 75 from public schools. I now understand why governors are clamouring to devolve education so that schools in their county can admit more students from that county. Set out to correct the world's wrongs and you will most certainly wind up adding to them.

hope it doesn't slay academic giants Get ready for a total mess shortly. I still recall what happened to one of our stellar performers when the admission system was tampered with. The school never recovered. Life is like playing a violin solo in public and learning the instrument as one goes on.

hope it doesn't slay academic giants Something is happening at the Ministry of Education that needs to be sorted out. I think private schools have the ministry officials in their pockets or they own these private schools. If we cannot afford the underprivileged in society a chance to a good education, we will have a huge development problem 20-30 years from now. Set out to correct the world's wrongs and you will most certainly wind up adding to them.
