There are people who 'pray' at Tom Mboya's statue, especially before soccer matches.

And there are other countless idols masquerading as respectable entities. One can even argue that common ideas of 'God' are pure idolatry. Lacking the capacity to be just and tolerant of others, the mass mind has been used for political games.

Why aren't we equally angry about Nakumatt's 'Ganesha'? Raila wasn't on the wrong; and joining the crowd in throwing stones is irresponsible and untruthful.

Seenn the whole clip. Again... sensational journalism.

The pic is of RAO climbing the podium. not running away

He never asked the statue be left. Its his 'political statement' of going to 'discuss further' that was disagreed by the youths.

Before he left. It had already been decided, after whispering with the Asian Leader that it was going down.

Next sensational news?

My suspicion is that this is being viewed less as idolatry and more as a statement from those who "run & own" the lakeside town. Especially since they are the only asset owners left to rebuild the entire town since the last ng'oa reli episode.

One nefarious wazuan recently said that Baba has all Luos in his pocket and he stifles their potential. I hope all those people who think like him are paying attention. Jakom is right on most things, and we support him when he is right. However when he is making a mistake, we have the intelligence to say no.

"Kisumu is a Christian town" Does that mean Christians own the town more than the Hindus? I thought Christians are about love n embracing each other?

They believe that sikhs worship Idols, but the christians should learn tolerance from Christ himself.

1st - I am the LORD thy God... Thou shalt have no other gods before me (God didn't say I'm ONE sometimes, and two sometimes, and three sometimes or four sometimes. No. He said "NO OTHER GOD").
2nd - Exodus 20:4-6 You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; ...but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my Commandments.
3rd - Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God In vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
4th - Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD your God: in it you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger that is within your gates:

@Alphadoti; you are right. BUT note that God never commanded YOU to stop anyone from breaking His rules! "Chose today whom you shall serve, as for me and my house, we shall serve the lord".

This is what the Kisumu Sikhs put up:

It looks to me like the image of a person in solemn prayer - it could be a person of any religious persuasion....Christian, Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim, or even Sikh etc

I wonder whether the protestors would have protested if the very same monument was placed there by a Christian church.

By the way; this is the Symbol for Sikhism:

Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.

smile Look at how some of our reporters, ah sorry, journalists, reported the story on their front page. Notice the combination.

Did they pay the city before they built?
