i have been with national bank for 15 years now and have given up with them completely. their rebranding into yellow is nice but the service still remains rubbish.50% of the time their systems are down meaning you cannot transact at all and the concept of customer service seems aliens to them. they are understaffed manning 2 to 3 tellers in most branches when they have almost 12 counters. the long queues are horrible! I use them for customs payments and its really frustrating to be told they cannot process it cause systems are down. how do I explain that to KRA! and their best response is that they are changing the system for the better - yeah right in 15 years its the same old rot, new colors or not!CEO Mr. Munir I am opting for a better bank. enough is enough!!!

I believe this issue here is that of cutting cost, however as a business person I believe you can’t cut cost to the borne. You need to find ways of creating revenue or what they say growing the top. If the top can’t grow move on to another business.

A client of mine spent the better part of Thursday and Friday reviving a dormant account and he complained of the systems being down (that's what the staff told him) and poor customer service...this is the same bank on an earlier thread I had indicated that my bro had lost his wallet and the security guys refused to review the cctv or offer any other form of assistance...he moved to another bank the next day...

I have banked with NBK for over 10 years. They have very few bank branches which sometimes becomes an inconvenience. I once had to do a transaction in Thika only to be surprised they didnt have a branch there. Maybe by now they have constructed one.
Last week i was doing a transaction at Kikuyu town and had to travel all the way to Ongata Rongai branch NBK then back to Kikuyu town. In Kikuyu, even smaller banks eg ABC bank have branches there.
