And do you have any comments on the fact that they had pangas and knives in the same mosque, which were also used to attack on the police? Now that the flag was just praising God, mark you with guns draw on it(I cant read Arabic, but I can positively identify a drawing of a gun), which part of the praise requires crude weapon in a prayer house?

Does anyone here even know what the words on the "al shabaab" flag mean??

With my little Arabic knowledge the flags were simply praising God!

Praising God with an AK 47????

One could imaging a drawing of a koran or even a minaret would be true to the claim.

Don't hold your breath.

When some militants tried this in their most holy mosque in Saudi Arabia. The Pakistani Special Forces dealt with them ruthlessly. That is the only language they understand.

Is it illegal to own pangas and knives which may have been used in self defense?? Is it illegal to have a picture of a gun???

In places like the UK the police would have absolutely no case here and I am tempted to think the same will apply in Kenya!

most of the terrorism cases can not stand in the kawaida courts - thats why even the superpowers have that ka place in cuba.

the idea is to terrorize them and hit them where it hurts most.

Again, the usual burying of the head in the sand. If the picture of a gun is on the flag of the terrorist organization that admitted carrying out the Westgate massacre, and continues to threaten more such attacks on Kenyan soil, even your role models in the UK would shut the place down so quickly regardless of the cost. If the pangas are held by the same institution or their sympathizers, the reaction in the US would have been of a lockdown with SWAT teams kicking ass like there is no tomorrow.

I really want to see Mr Freedom take a more robust approach to tackling these idiots just as Bush had to resort to Guantanamo and drones. There simply is no reasoning with them. People such as @guru think the AKs and pangas are ok in a place of worship. Clearly the more radicalized fellows must think using the pangas and AKs is an act of worship.

“The Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims is shocked by the utter illegality, criminality and un-Islamic actions by marauding youths in Mussa mosque in Mombasa.

“We are unable to say the brand of faith they represent and in that regard, we completely disown them,” Mr Wachu said in a statement.

I expected the Wazua Muslims to issue similar statements!!!!

This thing would die quite quickly were the so called moderate Muslims to cooperate with security agencies to weed out the radicals. But as someone says, even the Wazua muslims are silent. Kudos however to those who have condemned these actions. Please up the game and let the security agencies know who is planning these kind of things

Mombasa, Kenya: Police in Mombasa say it may take them two months to sift through the treasure trove of information seized from the controversial Musa Mosque after Sunday’s violent clashes. Sources told The Standard investigators are sifting through documents and analysing electronic information seized from militants after the deadly clashes with a group reportedly attending a jihadist convention. And preliminary reports indicate the material has valuable information reports indicate the material has valuable information that could be used to uncover terror suspects. A top security official warned that more raids on other mosques would follow adding that police have a right to storm any place where they suspect a crime is being committed. Reports also emerged that the crier of the nearby and equally controversial Sakina Mosque was among those killed in Sunday’s raid

THE government yesterday said it was considering shutting down two mosques in Mombasa following Sunday's clash between Muslim youth and police.

Muslim leaders yesterday claimed that five were killed in the violence, not two as reported by the police. They accused police of using excessive force to arrest the youth who were allegedly holding jihad classes.

Uneasy calm returned to most parts of Mombasa yesterday, except for sporadic violence in a few areas such as Majengo, Guraya and Gulshan in the morning.

Yesterday 125 youth who were arrested on Sunday were arraigned in court and were remanded until February 7 to allow police to complete their investigations.

I think this guys wanted to be caught. Govt should be careful as I see this as diversionary tactics.
Honestly, who puts up 3 Shabaab flags up at the highest point while you are trying to be secretive? Something is not right here.

BBI will solve it

I had the same feeling. Somehow, this sounds like it was a decoy.
