If you are asking about Thika, YES. Since elections, not even a simple attempt to replace a bulb! Yet rates are being collected daily. IMO, thika is the image of Kiambu.

Mpobiz talks of a good road network yet I think kiambu rural roads are the worst in central. Other than the highway, Muranga has the best rural roads, followed by kirinyaga then Nyeri.

Why to people vote in fellows such as kabuffalo, and the complain endlessly? We all knew Kabogo's pedigree even before he was elected. We rejected a qualified person like Nyoro. Choices have consequences

Someone suggested here that there should be a minimum education level for voter registration during the Stockskenya days. When you look at what we did to ourselves, you are tempted to agree with him.

My fellow wazuans this is a very good discussion about kiambu . Before we continue commenting further, there are a few points I would like you to think about.
1- kiambu is not thika. from kijabe, limuru, kikuyu, gatundu, ruiru and finally thika that's kiambuu for you.
2.like Nairobi kiambu has one of the best transportation networks in this country. Although it's ageing fast. Most counties have only one tarmac road and some don't have any.
3.this county has a very huge population. being neighbours to the capital city the previous national government saw it fit to develop some parts of the county because a huge population that works in Nairobi live in kiambu. Hence the road networks is under a lot of stress.

given the limited budget that the gavana handles I can give him a B+ for his effort.
When you complain of a pothole in thika , (or any other problem affecting one part of the county), remember all this Towns I mentioned are connected by a networks of tarmac roads that also need repair and are equally important or more important than thika.

@ Mpobiz B+ for what? Have you used Kiambu Githunguri route of late, kirigiti stadium is in a state of disrepair. aiiiiiiii your ranking is wanting. Now I know who voted for him.Sad Sad

Yes I voted kabogo and I am proud of that.
I am not in his payroll as some of you want to believe. I am am only a kiambuu resident who wants to give our gavana a chance to do his job without a lot of back ground bickering.
Please let's talk of roads that are mandated to the county government for repairs. Some of this roads you are mentioning here belong to the national government.
Mr simo I only said we have "one of the best" not the best.

I too suspect that you are one of Kabogo's online 'finger soldiers'

he has a huge army on fb esp on the USK page

but i agree. some of the roads mentioned are yet to be given to counties. in fact, the county govts have very little to do this year on roads

but the one Simon mentioned is clearly a county job!

and lighting, garbage collection...the towns are dirtier than they were!

Mpobiz. Let's put roads aside, since both tarmacked and untarmacked roads were inherited across all counties.

An underlying argument for a lot of people is:
1. He has a HUGE budget
2. Having inherited a lot of very good infrastructure (on a relative basis compared to other counties), he's got less work to do on some basic investments
3. Having a very large population, the tax base is extremely large.

So what is his budget, and what has he ACTUALLY achieved? NOT ANNOUNCEMENTS / RALLIES / INTENTIONS, but tangible achievements.

Remember, if we have two kids in a computer class, and one is from Shagz while the other one lives in a house with 2-3 laptops, some touchpads and several 3G phones, everyone would expect more from the 2nd kid.

You start off from a higher base, then MORE is expected of you, not less.

On that score, Alfie looks DOUBLY good. He's starting off with a semi-arid county with a much lower tax base and just impressing the hell out of everyone!

They have closed a section of Kwame Nkuruma street for repairs for a whole week! Why don't they close the whole town?

Let us applaud the little effort.Tukiwa pessimistic sana we shall be bitter.

Meanwhile that means total congestion in the coming week. Will avoid Thika for the period.

BTW who deals with parking? As in department? That town has serious parking issues.Aii Matatus must get out of CBD.

He wanted Thika to be HQ for Kiambu County. Watu wa Kiambu ya juu made a lot of noise! Ati they are the ones who gave him the most votes and so on and so forth. so he moved the HQ to Kiambu town. They are actually constructing new offices in Kiambu town right now.

Kiambu is a very complex county.
