Yesternight 9 oclock news,I felt for the parents of chege, the Kenyan guy who got married to another Kenyan man in the UK.when pictures of their gay son were thrust on their face
the media crew had gone all the to Muranga and thrust pics of the gay son to the old couple! I felt it infact nobody in that village had told them what their son was doing uk (very responsible of the villagers),atleast for the old couple to enjoy their sunset years in peace,I m not sure whether the parents will survive this trauma

A message to the media houses as much we want them to tell us the truth. please lets check the consequence of irresponsible media coverage ......remember you have childrean and you dont know what they will become...usiwatukane wakunga ilihari uzazi uko......

Ai,Pastor, are you saying that its O.K,for your son/daughter to 'soil in the mud' and you just look the other side! Its fit that way, right?

Do you remember David's son raping the daugher and the 'children behaving badly' while David was the king? Are you it would have been O.K,for David's eyes and ears to be closed!

'See no evil,hear no evil'

Pastor M,I dissagree with you!.......The best way,for evil to spread is for good men to do nothing!

But you shall remember the LORD your God,for it is He who is giving you power to make wealth, that He may confirm His covenant which He swore to your fathers,as it is this day. Deu 8:18

C'mon, what is the point in keeping them from knowing what their son has really become, shows just how irresponsible these homos can be,s/he was supposed to call home and inform his/her parents that he was 'wedding'!!!!!

@ mcreggae and eli

I agree with you...lets expose evil also the the word of God encourages us to do it with love but do you think its easy to be told that your son is a gay there is a I believe there was a better way of breaking the news, furthermore what can old parents do it about they cannot stop their son from the evil of course KTN will gain popularity....what about the old parents is it of any use to them...it will only bring the sad reality to them and they might die from depression and isolation.....I dare the media crew to go to Ngengi's home (husband) they cann't reason...they fear the rich but the poor chege's parents...ore wao....

tuwache kupayuka payuka tafadhali. the thread is whether KTN acted responsibly as a media house in breaking the news to the parents not if you like gays. it was simply not in their place to break these news to the parents and even go ahead to capture this as headlines for the 'enjoyment' of all and sundry.very silly media station.my heart goes to those parents in their sunset years.

these media houses should concentrate with issues that really matter to the public not who is sleeping with who in the privacy of their own bedrooms. issues the media should concentrate are rampant corruption, soaring crime, jobless youths, traffic jams,IDPs....etc. i just wonder why that story was placed top of the news instead of being the last 'news' item. i mean, according to the waki list we have suspected masterminds of election genocide sitting pretty in cabinet! the two gays live in uk,so no kenyan law has been broken. let's move on>>>>>>>>

Decadence is a difficult word to use since it has become little more than a term of abuse applied by critics to anything they do not yet understand or which seems to differ from their moral concepts.
That said,i am not homophobic as i have friends who are gay (both genders) and are just like any of us and i believe they should not be looked down upon by society as they too have their purpose in society..back to the issue at hand, was the media in question right to track down the parents and expose or rather inform the folks on what their children are up to??

Am not a journalist but i believe consent must have been sought for this to take place and in this regard the folks had agreed to the interview in question,i can understand our conservative background and the outcry from various quarters but i believe for any issue to be addressed and solved we have to face the issue head-on.

Wish you all a gay - day

KTN is the solo reason why i stopped watching news.their capacity to be inconsiderate, uncouth and without principle i loath.i mean look at a station like K24.a new station but to me they are the future CNN of Kenya.
KTN had no right to go barging into the lives of the parents.that is what the gutter press does not mainstream media.oh my!is KTN gutter press?

@simonkabz;

While your anger is appreciated,it is misdirected.

KTN only occupies three floors out of the 18 in I&M building. The majority of workers there are employees of I&M Bank...then there are their customers who visit now and then [including your truly!]

And the building belongs to I&M bank.

Bringing it down will hurt the wrong people!!!!!!

The best way to deal with KTN is to simply stop watching them

KTN is desparate and will do anything (including spreading propagada on 'stolen elections') to remain relevant.... they dont care about the consequences of their actions...muuane,mung'oe reli, sing maaaali yeeeetu, etc. if the old couple dies as a consequence of their ineptude, they will have another chance to run another headline.........

Telling parents the truth about their son is good... like Ric Dees says, there must have been some consent....I guess people can call me homophobic coz for real these people I can't stand .... May God bless Kenya

its all about the business..Ktn and any other media will do whatever to get the story for as long as it will get public attention..thats why if a kenyan is found in k-street he will not make news but wait until an mpig is found wondering in the same street that wil make great news!!..its all about what brings money!!

the humiliation suffered by the parents was great. as a parent I have no control for what my kids do. My sympathy is to all those that hail the station for a job well done. mkuki kwa nguruwe ni mtamu, kwa bin-adam ni chungu.
