The athletes have threatened to defect to other countries if they are taxed. Personally I would not loose any sleep if they defected. Maybe Rwanda can offer them incentives. As you know Rwanda even goes to the extent of hiring Americans to play on their basketball team

But for those who are worried about this, dont. The President will once again ride in like a knight on a chariot and "save the day" by declaring : No taxes on athletes. He always comes in when the building is on fire to save the day Laughing out loudly

there is no where in the world that money earned out of a certain country can be taxed elsewhere. its like saying tourists should also pay tax. HAPANAAAA

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Let me educate you, taxes is paid based on residency and not where you earned your money, fyi if you qualify for residency tax purposes inKenya nd make money from US, then you pay taxes to KRA regardless of whether you were taxed huko mayuu, you however can claim back part of the tax if Kenya na hiyo country ya Mayuu have a double taxation treaty.

Atheletes should Pay tax like me, i think the question is who could use the break more, is it the athelete earning a million USD and is asked to part with 30% or the Teacher who earns 15K and has to part with 10%.

I think people working for the UN and other diplomatic agencies should be made to pay taxes as well, with the exemption of Foreign nationals from countries that extend the same courtesy to us.

guys working for UN locally pays nearly 30% of their salary to gava. if lets say someone is earning 300k he pays more tha 100k to gava so gross salary is always like 400k

Everyone should pay taxes wherever they reside. If they live in Kenya, they need to pay taxes to Kenyan gaarment! Same way those Kenyans mayuu pay taxes to uncle sam on any earnings made in Kenya.
