@obiero even if you dont play odd lots nd dont think its justified to trade at its current levels the market takes its course however irrational.much respect to your greens so far.wish yu well on Kq.

@chief Obiero
What was your motivation to sell HFCK
at 24. negative news, dim growth prospects,
bad results, better growth prospects in
other stocks, just speculation ? Why
That has passed but just for next time as it
would have been a sweet ride for you from
14 to 44 in 2014.
You that highlighted HFCK should be
the best beneficiary not followers like us.
It should be a lesson for next time.
My kenyan friend that discovered safaricum
entered at 5 and sold at 6.50. He is now
an observer of safaricom,
It should not be so.
This is an indirect way of locals transferring
wealth to foreigners on a platter of gold.
Most retail foreigners I know take long positions
in stocks and they benefit more. This
includes my tiny self.

@kalameni.. Thanks boss. The market is indeed suprising and appears to respect no one. But in stocks, you have to know your personal investment objectives and target entry-exit prices as well as time horizons. We all know there are people who held onto KQ as it tanked from the 100's!!! Indeed I dint make as much profit as I wld have wanted on HF but I also did not make a loss, on contrary I made a whole lot of profit than the late comers who are trading on euphoria and mocking my decent gains :)
I mine diamonds in the rough and right now im on KQ. THE END :)

@young i target a gain of 20% on any stock that I target to enter. HF was trading on a high PE in Q1 2012 implying the market expected above average growth in profits mainly as a result of its rights issue as well as subsequent bonds. Indeed, this happened and overshot my own calculations. With that sort of gain, sellin was only sensible and the resultant stagnation in price from May - Dec '13 seemed to confirm my move as being solid. However, information on the 2013 full year result as well as a possible corporate action seems to have sneaked out hence current rally.. I sold to buy KQ and have no regret, having got in at 9.80 and now trading at 13.50. Btw, to any offended 'hellos', my first nse purchase was 100 hfck shares in 2006 :)

No problem @chief Obiero my concern to you
folks is out of good intention.
I respect your strategy as your choice and
if you are comfortable and happy , that is the
most important thing.

Housing Finance has begun the search for new directors to meet governance rules that may reduce the influence of Equity Bank in operations of the mortgage firm.

Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) has given lenders until June to ensure that at least a third of board seats are held by independent directors.

The banking regulator defines an independent director as a board member who is not a direct or indirect representative of the principal shareholders, has not worked in the bank as an executive for the past five years and has not had any business relationships with the institution in the same period.

fair value is 45.00 for this year, because our eps will be 4.00+. giving a pe of 11-13 and p/b 2.

Fair Value is what someone will pay you for it. For KE banks, I think the new 'normal' is a PER of 8-10 depending on growth prospects. That equates to 32-40 if the (sustainable) EPS is 4/-
