Man Utd fans should be excited with the Mata story, he was conspicuously absent from Chelsea's training ground today with news that his representatives are flying into Manchester as early as tonight to discuss personal terms. He's such a good player, i just hope Moyes will figure out how to utilize him otherwise he'll end up kama Kagawa.....well that's if he signs.

Moyes has to get his team, he has to create his team. If he wants Mata, it's because he knows he could use his skills, either from the wing or No.10. Unlike Kagawa, Mata can play on the wing, but it has to be a 4-2-3-1 formation. So you can imagine Januzaj, Rooney, Mata behind RVP. Or Mata, Rooney, Valencia, Or Januzaj, Kagawa, Mata behind Rooney/RVP. But my biggest issue is in defense.

It doesn't always work out that way, AVB got a new team of stars but still failed to deliver. Moyes style of play at Everton was a bit defensive, his team was actually quite physical....maybe he might need to change his formation.

Like I said, he has to change his formation. From the current 4-4-2 to 4-2-3-1, donge?

IMO i think Moyes is just a useless coach, look at Everton they've not been affected by his exit. Huyu hata mkimpatia player mgani sioni akishinda anything....how can you claim ati players ndio shida yet they won the league comfortably with SAF last season.

I don't think were are keen on him besides Moyes has already indicated that he will not let him go. It seems our number one target is Schalke's Julian Draxler, reports indicate that Arsenal representatives are due to travel to Germany to push through a January transfer of the £35m-rated midfielder. Wenger wants to convert him into a striker like he did with RVP and Henry.

And word is, hampati Draxler.

He has a buy-out clause of between £35-40m so its not really upto Schalke, Infact they are trying to convince him to stay mpaka end of season. The player has already expressed interest in joining Arsenal and its being reported that now its only a matter of when he'll make the move......January ama end of season.

In a world cup year, he's better off at Schalke.

@Taz, everyone agrees that despite last season's title victory, United had a mediocre bunch of players. It's not a topic that started this season. There were always questions as to why Fergie didn't sign world class midfielders. It's something Moyes tried to do during the summer. So average players are there. A new coach brought that out well. Hata Mourinho angeumia. Trust me, there will be a clear out in May.

Ozil, Mertesacker and Poldi are all full Germany internationals so i really doubt his appearance at the WC would be at risk if he signed for Arsenal......Gnabry is also in contention for a WC spot. Btw Schalke are currently struggling in the Bundesliga and face Real in the CL, i think Draxler would probably be better off at Arsenal.

@Jus Blazin.....If you fail to qualify for the CL next season then very few world class players would be interested in signing for Man Utd. Look at Spurs they had more than £100m to burn but they couldn't attract any WC player. My point on Moyes is that he doesn't bring out the best in players, you want to tell me the Man Utd squad he used last night was not good enough to beat Sunderland ama Swansea?

I normally tend to disagree with that notion, but that's just me. Players will come in. All they need are good contracts. Don't think United's stature in the global realms has fallen because of one bad season, especially when someone knows they can walk into the first team of United immediately and command a spot. Plus, number four tunapata bado. Man United is not Spurs, just like Man United is not Arsenal.

Aha, so we started following our respective teams around the same time.

I remember that Dennis Wise fouling half the Premier League...

But I never drank Coors beer as they had racist hiring tendencies.

Said the same here earlier:

Some folks think that given that Mourhino is finished with United and he doesn't consider United a threat (sob sob), he doesn't mind strengthening United so that we can deal with Arseno in London and Citeh at OT!!!

Man Utd might be the most valuable club but when it comes to willingness to spend lets just say they are not as "philanthropic" as Man City or Chelsea. The Glazers are not passionate about football kama Mansoor and Abramovich, that's why fans want them out.

@Masukuma....When Abramovich took over at Chelsea they had qualified for the CL, infact that season they went all the way to the semis and thats was before Mourinho became manager.....so i don't think they really had a problem attracting WC players. As for Man City they were not performing well but the money dished out by Sheikh Mansoor was just insane, i don't think there's any premier league club which can match that. It also helps when you have a Manager/CEO who actually understands how the transfer market works and has some sort of influence.....to be honest Moyes and Woodward are totally clueless. Kama si SAF and the call he made to Wenger, RVP would probably not have signed for Man Utd. Man City brought in Txiki Begiristain (football Director) from Barca. He's the one who promoted Guardiola to be first team coach and also bought in Pellegrini at City. Man Utd need such kind of people on board.

@Taz, Arsenal's previous record deal before Mesut Ozil was 15m pounds. When push came to shove, he spent 42m pounds, surpassing even even United's 30.75m pounds record deal spent on Berbatov. Hata hii 37m ya Mata isn't close to Ozil's. United can spend if they have to, and because of this season, they will have to. The Glazers may not be as passionate, but they can't afford to see their revenue streams falter because of lack of signings.
