I know county govts are not delivering as fast as we expected, but I refuse to lose hope. We are almost one year into it, its a new concept...instead of throwing in the towel and thinking it was a bad idea, I would think we should look at the failures so far and learn from them. I still believe this is the best way to equitably bring development to the locals. We shall no longer need to wait for the Central govt to build us a hospital...if we are politically incorrect, that might never happen. But with a county govt, it may not matter who we voted in. Whichever govt gets into power will have to give us our money and we shall decide what we want to do with it. I insist, its too early to lose hope. There is a much bigger future if we do this thing right.

We have been in Egypt for 50 years, we are just on the way to Canaan...let us not wish to go back there simply coz a certain governor has not performed. We can always get a better one.

Protests by hawkers have been there all along, only this time they are named county protests!!!!

That is true @McReggae, but this time round they look like they are kinda cordinated from somewhere. And almost always, after it happens, an MP will appear from somewhere and address them and support them and condemn the governor. Its like they are always somewhere waiting for it to happen. Yet we know majority of them are usually in Nai, whether they are in session or not.

That is true, the MP used to be the KING/QUEEN of the village, that is no longer the case and this is upsetting many of them, they want to be involved in the running of the county gaarments including allocation of resources yet this aint their mandate!!!!

waah! i honestly believe we shall need to be frank and objective enough to see the need to review the katiba. The concept of counties was , i believe , a very noble idea. But the way we going about it is pretty scary. I heard governors say, the monies sent to counties is only for re-current expenditure( salaries, miscellenious expenses, blah , blah), and nothing is left for development.
Having said that, i frankly believe we need a review to cut down counties to about 10-15 and probably revert constituencies to 210(what was there) . Got no formulas on how to achieve this but this my 2Zim dollar thoughts.
