I had given the Director of Marketing and Corporate affairs a one week notice to resign which ended on Thursday.I add her one more week or else I will ensure she is sacked by 3rd February. She should have learnt from the former Director of Finance who thought I was an ordinary Kenyan but later left Mumias knowing I am a small powerful man.Ataenda ama ataenda!!!!!!!

I like this... & plz don't add any more time to the notice ...

Mumias Sugar has opened talks with
local and international banks to help
build a $400 million (Sh34.3 billion)
factory in Tana Delta in August.

At best an agreement will be reached by Aug 2014 but the factory will take at least 2 years thereafter [2017] to be operational.

A technical team from the Common
Market for East and Southern Africa
(Comesa) is in the country to assess
Kenya’s progress in making sugar
production more efficient.
The team will evaluate whether
Kenya has fulfilled conditions set by
the bloc before the council of
ministers decides whether or not to
extend restrictions on entry of tax-
free sugar that have been in force
for a decade.

Aug 2014 is ground breaking time which is a major step. More, getting financing from the conservative bankers is a great mark of confidence in the local sugar industry ;)

Those discussions are targeted to be done by June. Thats a time but money will be made. We shall sell the news then, while some will be rushing to buy ;)

@aguy - 3rd test of 3.10 and the price bounces refusing to untag the 20day which is riding at 3.45. Are sellers fatigued? If so, bounce targets as per moving averages (50day and 100day) are 4/- and 4.80 respectively. 200day is a distant 6.80/-

Read those tea leaves for us. I have a good feeling here.
And a true bounce it is. The price refusing to go below 3.10, someone must be on the buy trigger at that range.

@Mwekez@ji. Welcome to my next bus.

"you can't buy whats popular and succeed" Look at NBK today! look at Kenya Re today! you know this well.

peeps avoiding mumias now. check this scenario in 1 year.
Comesa safe guards extended, ground breaking of Tarda in august 2014. returns to profitability. Share price??

“He (President Kenyatta) said the government will also work with the relevant authorities to ensure that the safeguard on the importation of cheap sugar from the Comesa region is extended,” read part of a statement from State House.

Africa loves this him, plus he make things go his way. so im seeing an extension.

without extension mumias still benefits, TARDA will come faster, Mergers with the other sugar firms. Kinda of a win win. part owners too

I have an order pending at 3.00/=. I'm not adjusting it for now!!!
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.
