Treason is any attempt to overthrow the government or impair the well-being of a state to which one owes allegiance; the crime of giving aid or comfort to the enemies of one's government.

Sedition is any act, writing, speech, etc., directed unlawfully against state authority, the government, or constitution, or calculated to bring it into contempt or to incite others to hostility, ill will or disaffection.

Why are people committing this heinous crimes in and getting away with it??? Or are they doing it on purpose so that they can be arrested and remain relevant?

What do you do with such fellows? Follow the law and arrest them or let they yap as much as they want??

They are hopping that they will be arrested and the act will cause unrest then they can force a nusu mkate situation.

They need to look for new tricks hiyo ilikua ya 2007 and cannot work in 2014.

From observation even their supporters are tired and have received the news with.........."Aiiii!!....thats not true".

If I say, 'Yes arrest them'; or if I say, 'Freedom of speech!' will I be making things better or worse?

I believe that our political leaders need not just 'our' support, but 'our' honesty. And how can we find honesty if we are hell bent to get to high positions of power?

Because the private citizen doesn't want to optimize on his power, and is deeply concerned with his selfish interests.

The African spirit is communalistic, and right now the citizen should be concerned about our incessant quarrelling and how to end it.

I long for candid conversation on these challenges facing us as humans. And especially the 'masses', the 'unpeople' the 'Wanjikus'. I am them.

And don't think that I don't understand the 'minority' that rules the world. Or the middle class. I am everyone. And I have nothing but love for Man. Myself.

Upholding democracy, and freedom for all isn't easy, and we must be rigorous.

boss - these are laws created by the establishment to perpetuate the establishment! think about it - when a country has a coup that succeeds, do you hear noise? people praise it as "the will of the people" that a "revolution" has taken place. people who had been arrested before for committing "treason" or "sedition" are lauded as heros and patriots and those that supported the fallen administration are labeled as people who committed "treason" and "sedition". When a coup fails, the people who were heading it are chased down like dogs for committing the stuff you mentioned above. they are labeled "rebels" who "attempted" and no one has pity for them. so as alexander dumas wrote - TREASON IS A MATTER OF DATES!
