Due to increased insecurity, Jubilee govt insists it might be forced to suspend it due to the Governor's inability to sort out the issues leading to the insecurity.

CORD says they will resist such a move with all the might...

Is insecurity only in Marsabit county in Kenya?

You people do not understand whats going on in Marsabit County.

The problem there is politics of tribalism! Hence a political solution is what is needed to end this conflicts.

Marsabit is home to the Borana (Moyale), Gabbra (North Horr), Rendile (Laisamis), El-Molo (Loyangalani-Laisamis), Burji (Moyale and Saku township, they dont own land since they came to Kenya about 60-80yrs ago).
Marsabit is bigger than Rwanda and Burundi combined.

The conflicts are arising due to marginalization of Borana by the ReGaBu (Rendille, Gabbra, Burji) union that won the elections, hence sidelining the Boranas in most of the county appointments. ReGaBu are claiming that Boranas have Isiolo County all for themself.

The Governor (A Gabbra) however insist that his appointments are fairly distributed, but the problem is that Borana are about 35% in population and are demanding EQUITABLE and not EQUAL distribution of county jobs and resources.

The link should be Ruto on cheche. I wonder why the county govt would fail on security which is not a county govt function but a national govt duty. It's like giving an E to an economics student because the Statistics student failed. Central govt ifanye kazi yake without passing the buck to the county govt

They may as well suspend the whole country....No one in Kenya feels secure
If Obiero did it, Who Am I?

You have a point actually. I know some upcountry folks who work there and the tales they tell of wanton destruction and needless death are sickening to say the least. This is the one thing I always feared about this county system: institutionalization and entrenchment of tribalism. The same is replicated in several other counties, only they aren't fighting about it...yet. For how long will this madness go on?Sad

The Governor's take is also interesting, he says the national garment want to fix them coz himslef, the senator and the women rep are all ODM and ODM forms 2/3 of the MCAs. The fact is Wailer cannot run away from security issues, it was not devolved and we should invent excuses for them!!!!

Selective interpretation of the Law. The governor has no forces or police to stop the insecurity. Its just convenient to blame the governor
