I also found it odd that there was not a single player from Dortmund
No player from the EPL.

Congratulations are in order to Ronaldo! The lad really deserved it. He has waited for this thing for long! Not his mistake he was born in the same era as Messi.

The dude was really moved. Cried for real. Totally emotional! There is no way he could hide it. Really happy for him. The lad has really worked for it. And the son added gloss to the whole thing. Lucky kid! Born with a with a platinum spoon in his mouth!

Most people who strive to be the best that they can be put their entire MIND BODY AND SOUL into it. When you work and work on it and never give up, when you have blood sweat and tears piled up, when you put your WHOLE BEING INTO YOUR WORK, AMBITION, DREAM - just the simple acknowledgement, that you get - can mean the world to a human being!!

Cristiano's tears tell a thousand stories of his life's journey.

We salute you.

You will, one day!

Some things are difficult to explain. @ecstacy has tried and gave a nice explanation.

I totally understand the guy! Just Google how hard he works on his fitness, technique etc. Also where he came from and all many people - including his mother - had to do to get him where he is. Then despsite having got to the very top of world football he had consistently missed the award the last couple of years despite being nominated. Then yesterday, he finally won it again, making him one of only 10 players ever to win it multiple times. Captains and coaches the world over have recognized his years of work and agreed he is the best in the world! And his mum, son, girlfriend etc. are there to share the moment with him!
