My money too is on CR7, however I fear that Ribery might run away with it since some FIFA officials thinks that CR7 spends most of his time at the salon than on the pitch.

He should be thanking Messi's injuries.

Welcome back my friend wacha kupotea anyway i agree with you on this one, i wouldn't be surprised if Ribery walked away with this one.

@Mc Reggae, you might want to read this

"Bayern and France star Franck Ribery, who has already won the UEFA European Player of the Year prize, had been the favourite to claim the 2013 Ballon d’Or until FIFA extended the voting deadline from Nov. 15 to Nov. 29. The decision, which FIFA said had been motivated by the low number of votes received prior to the original closing date, appears to benefit Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored four goals for Portugal across the two-legged World Cup play-off victory over Sweden on November 15 and 19."

@TAZ. Thank your my brother. Sometimes it pays to make a tactical retreat as you wait for the right opportunity to pounce.

and this?

If that were the Ballon d’Or’s function, a case could be made for other Bayern players ahead of Ribery, who may not be the best footballer in Bavaria, never mind the world. An equal case could be made for Philipp Lahm or Bastian Schweinsteiger. In a mass public ballot to determine the current order of merit, Ribéry would also trail Luis Suárez and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Purists will see Ribéry’s presence on the list as a chance to extol the virtues of Messi and Ronaldo; to articulate the difference between good and great. Messi’s four wins since 2009 were deserved. Ingenuity is allied with spirit and brilliant finishing in the package he brings to the game. His talent is a whole circus. There is a trace of cruelty, though, in Ronaldo having to share the stage with a rival whose gifts are perhaps more dazzling but no more lethal that those of Real Madrid’s hero.

Therein lies the problem with these awards. Ribera "beat" both Ronaldo and Messi in Europe. It would be ironical for Ribery to lose to either of these two in ballon D'or. Never mind that most people, including yours truly, thought that Ribery hardly deserved the accolades.

@Mwenza....That's a good point right there, why would they give Ribery the European player of the year then give CR7 Ballon D'or.....they both play for European teams.

Jupp Heynckes (ex-Bayern Munich) should win the coach of the year award.
