What are the implications? My friend's driver was recently accosted by cops over the same, the vehicle in question being a private car. Asii!!!

And how do you prove in court that the cop is lying?
I've been a victim, I just pleaded guilty in court to avoid wasting time. What this means is that if you have a minor traffic infraction, especially if cars have collided, bruide, dented each other, please sort it out on one on one basis without the police if you can, especially if you are on the wrong and there are no injuries, these type of cases can quickly turn into 'careless driving' for the driver on the wrong as determined by the police..... happened to me once, luckily had a man on the inside who made it go away.... If you are going to be thinking only one thing, you might as well be thinking big. -Donald J . Trump

Who knows the charge for driving while in possession of an expired driving license and what is the penalty. I friend of mine just realized his license was expired when he gave it to the cops. Driven to the police station to pay cash bail, told the person who receives cash bail had left and asked to leave the car plus the car keys. Requested to leave the car only and leave with the keys and finally locked up overnight for insisting not to leave the keys.

Some time back i was arrested for making a wrong turn. I hadn't seen the cop only for me to be stopped 500m away by a cop on a motorbike. After kujitetea and seeking forgiveness failed i offered some chai and the issue was sorted. Now imagine if i had decided to accompany the cop to the station to pay bond, then use 1000 bob fuel to appear in court the following day, then be fined? I don't view it as corruption but as a form of a 'resolution mechanism' whereby i opted to be punished 'out of court' for the traffic offence.

The fine is a minimum of 20K and Max of 30K. Plan to spend a full day in the courts.Make sure you have someone to pay your fine coz you cant pay it by yourself or else you pay the policemen 2K to facilitate your fine penalty If Obiero did it, Who Am I?

And then i pay 20k fine and 3k car towing charges the following day? Anyway i decided to use my common sense and sorted the issue out of court with some 1k chai, which was also a form of punishment by a law enforcement officer.

Waow!.......never knew that what i did was biblical. One thing you should know is that you should never drive your car into a police station coz of a traffic offence. Once you are in there your bargaining/kujitetea power is zero. Thus always sort your issues huko inje. Punishment/'fine'/'chai' from a cop will always be better than punishment from a judge.Even the CJ Mootoonga has recommended that we sort issues out of court.....including even seeing witchdoctors.

heee! that interpretation ni kali sana. And the same bible says Exodus 23:8 And you shall take no bribe, for a bribe blinds the clear-sighted and subverts the cause of those who are in the right. Quote: UNDERSTAND THE CONTEXT Context is a very important part of interpretation. First, there is the original context and cultural setting of the Bible. It’s important to have some understanding of this so we can grapple with passages and apply them meaningfully to our lives today. Second, there’s the immediate context of a passage. Sometimes we read a single verse in isolation, forgetting that it has an immediate context: it is part of a flow of ideas before and after it.

We should never read the law the way we are reading it. The cops were asking for a 10K bribe and he opted to not to give. He spent the night in the cell but was fined 2K, not the 20K you mention here. The charge was clear, about failure to renew the license not driving with an invalid license.
