R2,how many jobs have you created so far? Any testimonies?

@Mukiha,I think we can author a more useful 'how to' type of book - 'How to spot a Ponzi Scheme a mile away'. Thanks for uncovering that. Frankly when i saw the other post where he was hawking 14' Yana tyres...I wondered. I know a chemist can diversify and do photocopying and airtime sales (its all retail anyway) . But selling tyres and writing? Good grief! What next -

@ Mukiha A few questions:

1) Have I asked you to buy anything?

2) Have I asked you to join any mlm

3) Have I asked you to ask anyone to buy any of the ebooks?

In fact,I don't know why you visited my online store. It is aemathenge had asked to see some of my writings.

Okay, now that you know www.interneteasymoney.com is an mlm scam, how about these others?

1) www.boomeryearbook.com - by the way this one is on sale. It is PR4 rated and receives an average of 2000 hits on a daily basis.

Long story short, mention anything, from health and wellness to sports and anything in between, and I have an online presence. It's that easy.

I am convinced to get confused on this subject. I am an aspiring writer, and was happy to see and follow a thread like this.
It is however clear that most of our input was against R2 and i respect all opinions. My question however is,so,who's going to show me the way to writing?
Can the writing gurus shine light on how one can benefit from their writing talent, what companies could offer such opportunities?
Let us end this thread on a positive note.

@Kanyambu - pls start a new post with a new heading - making that request - all the bona fide writers/journalists will come forth....and if the hacks/plagiarists show face we will point them out (and shoot them down). Happy to share experiences on writing/freelancing/etc. I think that is more valuable than creating 1000 jobs that pay Kshs 5 each like R2 would like to do (i.e. exploitation at any cost). I think between the sober and level headed members on this site you can glean important info (I speak from experience on this site).

@All,in pursuit of clarity, what is the difference between a post and a thread?

Post = a single contribution

Thread = a string of contributions on the same subject

Reminds me of a chewing gum called 'Pussy Cat' that we used to chew as little boys (my son says 'when I was littler') after 15 'chews' it became hard and left you with no option but to spit it out. Then there were the lads who could deal that gum till jionis. I never understood how they could stand that feat and still have a straight face. This thread reminds me of that chewing gum.

@ Kanyambu, you have got to start somewhere in which regard, let me give you my personal experience.

The industry, like in our politics, has its old boy network. To become a member, you have to be invited by an old boy. I started out as a ghost writer by writing articles and sending them to recognized columnists and advised them to use my contributions for a small fee and keeping the credits and copyrights. Columnists usually give their electronic mail addresses at the end of thier articles.

Secondly, these old boys have a penchant for the Queen's English, therefore, forget Swahili-English,eh,Sheng. Get hold of a series of books called 'Brighter Grammar' and sturdy them. Really sturdy them. Also, make it a habit of writing every electronic mail message, short text message, blogging posts and so forth in full english and avoid such stuff as 'BTW'.

They will ignore you and will not respond but take it from me,they will save your labour somewhere. Eventually, they do all suffer from what we call in the trade 'writer's block' and will use your work either in part or in entirelity. Then you will have arrived. Soon they will invite you to contribute when they, themselves, put up publications and need good writers in which case you will have arrived.

I remember getting the shock of my life when I opened a Saturday Magazine and finding out that sixty two percent of the featured articles was my work, three entire articles and several paragraphs of some articles.

What ever happens,do not give up. Welcome to the trade of writers.
