@R2; check your mail box.

I usually get shocked when I hear that people are writing three feature articles every day...continuously.

That makes it seem as if writing is easy. I have been writing for EA's largest circulation publications for over a decade...currently on a weekly feature plus other ad-hoc assignments. Now it takes me about half a day to do the weekly 500-word piece and after that I feel so drained that I cannot write any more.

So when I hear that some one does three features per day every day,I really want to read the kind of articles they write. So far,none of the people offering this kind of deal has ever given me samples of what they do!

I am of the opinion that they must be very poor quality material or extensively plagiarised....and I shall hold that view until one them sends me their writing samples!

So,R2,before I send you my samples (and reveal my true identity to you),send me yours and I will judge whether you are worth my effort.

Na sio maringo!

I have a reputation to protect and will not write for any publication that shows up on my door!

@R2;

You scoff at the rates that Djinn quotes here.

Actually those are typical of what many freelancers get in Kenya. And if you are a seasoned contributor like myself,you easily get double that! I get Sh5,000 for my 500-word weekly column...and I retain the copy rights. They cannot publish it in another publication without paying me a second time...but I can sell the same to another publisher without any reference to them!

So,don't scoff at Djinn,I know some one who gets double the figures quoted....i.e.,myself!

@Mukiha - thanks - you are the voice of reason. If someone simply wants words on a page - and to pay a pittance for them - he/she is highly likely to get plagiarised work or very inferior output (like we sometimes see in Buzz and Pulse - utter rubbish - then again,maybe I am not in the target demographic for those pull outs).....I gave the rates to help R2 be more transparent and for anyone wanting to venture further,to know what parameters to operate within and not get exploited - we also need to raise the bar as journalism is largely a poorly paid occupation in Kenya. Writing is not a joke - esp in an age where people can hardly compile a CV let alone an application letter.....don't get me started on spelling and malapropisms which we see everyday on SK

@R2,such would be the pleasure if you would be so kind as to give us doubting Thomases a sample of exactly what you require,what you have in mind. A link perhaps to your most recent piece of work? Better still,look me up on my electronic mail address and send me an electronic mail message. The other contributors are rather polite to tell you that you are indeed,pissing them off!

@ Mukiha first off,I am sure you cannot read. Because if you can,you would not have missed this sentence from my post 'These are not newspaper styled articles'. I am not a media house! I am not into journalism! I DO NOT WANT NEWSPAPER / MAGAZINE ARTICLES!

Secondly,I am not scoffing at the figures @ Djinn stated.

During my one year as a writer,I have come across employers who Pay $ 1 / word. Take out your calculator and do the math. And to ice the cake,they pay for their writers to visit exotic places just to write articles on those places. I am thinking if you are as good as you say you are ...

Anyway,back to me,I am creating jobs,not 80K / month jobs,but jobs all the same. My challenge to Djinn was for him to make available 1 or 2 80K jobs,to back up his claims. I am also extending the same challenge to you.

You were quick to let it be known how much you make in a week - KES. 5000 -,how about creating just 2 jobs,like I am doing?

BTW,I only make a fraction of you make plus I do not have industry connections like you do. But unlike you,I can create unlimited kazi kwa vijana opportunities,albeit with a slightly better pay.
How about you with all your connections and industry reputation?

@ aemathenge I will do you one better. How about I sell you my work? www.interneteasymoney.com. It's my e-commerce web site complete with a merchant account,shopping cart etc. But I am certain,just like @ mukiha,you are all talk,no action. Bure kabisa.

@R2,you say you are sure Mukiha cannot read and also attributed that disability to me. I put it to you that I am CERTAIN,100%,that YOU can read,but play like Harambee Stars when it comes to understanding. Do go ahead and parade the fact that newspaper and magazine are different. nation.co.ke and eastandard.net publish the same articles - so its really not about the medium. Please do not get us started on the DIFFERENT types of ARTICLES. Suffice to say,given your responses,I;d suggest you do this while on this screen: Press Ctrl+A (to select ALL),then Crtl+C (to copy) and then paste in your desired publication - in less than 2 seconds you will garner high quality material - more than your phalanx of slave writers can generate in the next six months - right down to punctuation,diction,written voice,etc. I think that is really what you want. Quick and easy stuff. No grey matter required.

BTW,has anyone noticed if their yahoo or hotmail has been sending out SPAM to their entire address book? I hear from someone here at SK,that somehow their yahoo/hotmail has been breached after responding to an address given at this particular thread.....gmail is not much vulnerable and as solid as Fort Knox....

@ Djinn,ever heard of paragraphs? Make a point of using them in future. Even Mukiha,in his short post,made good use of them.

That said,how about those jobs you were and still touting? Just one will be enough to prove your point. You know,actions speak louder than words.

I could be wrong,but I think you are one of those guys who use the SK as a platform to live out your fantacies. You talk big but zero action.

BTW that bit about Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V will not work on my PC,I am using Ubuntu. But lucky for me you are offering free computer lessons too. What are Ubuntu's hotkeys for copying and copypasting?

I respect what you doing,trying to create employment,but you response to issues raised sound impolite. I think Mukiha,one of the respected contributers in SK,raised valid concerns and you don't have to be rude in you response. The way you are responding tells alot about you

@R2;

Still waiting for you to reply to my email.

FIY: I don't use connections to get published. I rely 100% on the quality of my writing. Most of the time,editors approach me for contributions; not the other way round.

@R2,my,my. Feisty aren't we?

In the event that I took you up on your offer,you would technically be my superior officer. With the kind of atitude you exude on this thread,I would not live long enough to enjoy the proceeds of my labour. Not with the ulcers I would develop working for you.

In view of the foregoing,I have choosen not to take up on your offer. I am,however,for ever thankful that you have given us this opportunity to be of service to you.

I rest.

@ Djinn,hey genius,Ctrl-C!? What sort of a command is that? Another thing,commands are operating system specific. They are not standard. Now,I am done with this free education business.

First I clicked on the link provided by @R2 and got the message below....I thought 'now what. Is this a joke?'

Then I noticed that the hyperlink is different from the printed URL....so I did the copy-paste thing (Ctrl+C Ctrl+V....which also works in Ubuntu,BTW!!) and got this:

How To Become Rich Easy ''NOT A SCAM''

How To Become Rich Easy ''NOT A SCAM'' takes you through the meaning of Multi Level Marketing. It then focuses on the things that you need to know before setting out to establish your own business,in multi level marketing. It also offers the basics that you need to apply in order to succeed in internet marketing. Selection of a multi level marketing is one of the most important things to understand in order to avoid the various SCAMS that are on the INTERNET. In order to prevent anyone from falling for fraudulent schemes such as the PONZI SCHEME,How To Become Rich Easy ''NOT A SCAM'' sheds light on how to select a multi level company that is bound to work for anyone seeking an internet business opportunity.

So I said to myself... 'Not again. Not another MLM thing!!'

Finally I realised you are selling self-help books with themes along the lines of 'How to become rich without working for it'.

Thank you very much,but I will pass....
