I am looking for someone who can offer short article writing services. I have been in the business for over a year now - you may recall some of my posts - but due to the increase in workload,I would like to outsource some of the work.

These are not newspaper styled articles. For more details, shoot me an email at ahomes10 (@) gmail (.) com.

Check on the following:

1. You do not have spaces anywhere on the email

2. Remove all brackets

3. Do not include the full-stop at the end.

R2 - level with me,are you at some point going to ask interested parties to pay a fee to join and benefit from some freelance work? Tell me its not true. What is your rate per word? And what exactly are we looking at here? Features, news, technical stuff? what?

The problem with equality is that we desire that it be with those that have more than us rather that those that have less

I will be the one paying for services. So,if any money will change hands it will be paying the chosen service provider for the services rendered.

Your other questions are irrelevant. If you want work, put in your bid.

Just FYI whoever is interested in this - I have been published locally (regionally and internationally) both online and in print. Typically you should expect a local daily to pay abt Kshs 2-3 per word (i.e. an 800 word feature would be around Kshs 2,500). A more serious paper would go even as high as Kshs 5-8 per word (the East African for example). if you were to write for Drum/True Love - magazines sometimes go by pages, irrespective of whether they have pictiures or ads,a 3-4 page article would fetch 6000-8000 AGAIN depending on the effort (did you have to travel to get the material? Is it part of the headline articles? etc). An international magazine can pay anywhere between US$ 250 to US$ 1000. And by the way, these rates are for well written, original contributions. Not hacking or half cooked articles with poached material......so R2,I'm not going to bid...it may encourage exploitation and needlessly lower the bar ....

The problem with equality is that we desire that it be with those that have more than us rather that those that have less

@ Djinn how about providing links to some of your published works? You know, just to get a feel of your writing prowess. You come out as someone whom budding writers can learn something from. Provide some links please.

On a different note,it is good that you are educating people on the print industry standards. But it is often repeated that people fail exams not because they do not know the answers to the questions, but because of failing to read the question correctly.

Look at my post again, take your time this time,do not rush. I'm I looking for newspaper / magazine articles?

Out of curiosity, why do people link articles exclusively to magazines and newspapers? Lack of exposure is one answer. Limited vocubulary is another.

Back to the education bit,why are you leaving out the cash cow? Newspapers and Magazines only hire so many writers. How many reputable dailies do we have anyway? They only have a handful of writers.

What I'm I getting at? Provide people with relevant and useful information. Information that will enable them to get a piece of the bigger cake. Why are you telling them about The Nation,The E.A Standard etc when competition for the few writing positions is cut throat? More like asking mama mboga to join BBK back in the post Members days.

Anyway, tone down your chest thumping and lead people on the right path. Do not just blow hot air. Do not forget to post some links to some of your published works.

@R2,you are still not answering the question; what areas of interest are you looking writers for? Business, finance, spiritual, sports, environment, technology, gossip, entertainment, music, kids stuff, lonely hearts, etc?

@ Jus' Blazin' a bit of everything, diversity is the keyword. I am not looking for specialists to write authoritatively on their respective fields. My interest is SEO writers, only skill required for this is solid internet research skills and above average typing speeds - 20WPM.

Interesting bids. Lowest KShs. 750 / article. Highest KShs. 1500 / article. Average bid KShs. 1125 / article. Average number of articles one can produce in a day 3.

KShs. 1125 x 3 (articles / day) x 25(days) = KShs. 84,375 (no tax).

Which profession pays 80K+ / month for a 5 hour day shift? What skills set does one require to join such a profession? Surely,it has to demand much more than just the ability to bing or google, excellent grammar skills and above typing speeds. Or could it?

@ Djinn I am sure you have already won the Pulitzer price and the Nobel literature price. No need to belabour that point.

It's a shame you are not willing to give me even a glimpse at some of your published works via a link so that I can perfect my craft to enable me compete with accomplished writers like yourself and Clay Muganda for columns in local and international dailies like the E.A Standard.

@ Informer I've been creating employment for the past 1 year.

Mr. Tea if @ Djinn can table a job with better terms,I will be more than glad to hook him / her up with my 10+ writers.

@ Djinn please say you atleast have a job for 1 or 2 of them and that you will pay them 1/4 of what you are purporting the industry offers. I will provide you with their contact details here and now.

Even I will join you,if you can offer me a 1/4 of what you have stated you earn from writing articles.

Given your stature and clout as a writer,I am sure that should not be a problem since you have a lot of writing jobs to go around.
