When Garang once fired Riek Machar from the SPLA, Garang nearly saw dust! I'm surprised Salva Kiir learned nothing from that incident. Given the massive support Machar commands in the SPLA ranks, you dont fire him, you arrange a 'small' helicopter accident! With the reported disturbances in Juba, Salva Kiir will now know how tough a customer Machar is!

and that small accident could break the young country!

That would be sad. The region is trying to unshackle itslef from the turmoil and conflicts that have bedeviled us for the last quarter century. Somalia, UG, Rwanda and Burundi, South Sudan... et al. They are all now trying to find their footing and the least we would need is another regional war. Given the natural resources that have been discovered some powers can take advantage and fester proxy wars'

About the south, my 2cents is "oil".

This with ethnic conflict, and the undeveloped economy.
So garment institutions are not ready to handle the huge influx of revenue.

So with this, power struggles are expected.

@Magigi, Its calm now but has been tense whole day and all pple indoors. Curfew has just kicked in until 6.00am tomorrow and hoping for a quiet night. No way to get out of the country at the moment as no flights in operation.

Challenge at the moment is too many arms around. Some soldiers reside in the residential areas with their arms.
