Well if we get knocked out si we'll just concentrate on EPL and possibly the FA Cup, we are still in the title race you know unlike watu wengine.

The only realistic chance for a trophy this season was the league cup...sadly aseno were jettisoned out of it....and with that CL draw, one can safely say that aseno are already out of it before they kick the ball.... Yet another trophyless season now beckons.

Remember no team has ever retained CL, so its a matter of who is going to knock bayern out???? could it be Asernal?

Arsenal's matches in Feb/Mar 2014:

Feb 8 Liverpool (A)
Feb 13 Man United (H)
Feb 19 Bayern (H)
Mar 12 Bayern (A)
Mar 15 Tottenham (A)
Mar 22 Chelsea (A)
Mar 29 Man City (H)
Apr 5 Everton (A)

Another opportunity to correct the mistakes we made last season against Bayern, we can beat them again away, all we need to do is avoid losing the home leg like we did last time. Let's face Barca and Real are a bit too strong for us (juu ya Messi and CR7), don't get me wrong Bayern are also strong.

Last 5 seasons, Arsenal drew Barcelona, Barcelona, AC Milan, Bayern and now Bayern again in the last 16!

These draws are rigged!

Aha.....they never win their group....therein lies the problem for arseno!!!!

Are you sure about that?

You should know better......but you only meet the top dawgs when you can't win your group!!!

Blame it on Wenger. All you guys needed was a draw against Napoli, instead you were counting your chics before they hatched...even I knew there'd be hell to pay in finishing 2nd! None of those teams looked a good prospect to face, in fact at face value maybe PSG and Athletico Madrid look beatable but it would take a very confident coach to say that. Arsenal fans would argue that a team like Dortmund can be beaten since they beat them at Signal Iduna but knockout phase has many elements of luck, both good and bad, and whether you're ravaged by injuries or not.

On the bright side, this is football....anything can happen. But I doubt Pep will want a repeat of the return match against City....tafakari hayo

No point in chickening and taking easy draws. The tough teams gotta face somebody too. There is a lot of noise about the draw. What no one is pointing is that Bayern were beaten 2-0 last season by Arsenal at Allianz. They were red hot then and fair enough,Arsenal will knock them out.......If there is a team i would have wanted to avoid at all costs,it was Atletico.Thank God.

Barca is so scared of City....and with good reason......There are two coaches i have very high regards of.Pellegrini and Marcelo Bielsa. The former from his days at Universidad de Chile,Palestin ,LDU Quito , River Plate, Villarreal
,Real Madrid , Málaga and now Manchester City....If there is anyone who can spoil the partyPray

Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

Nayern had already qualified and went on to win the cup, just like they had already qualified when they were beaten by City. In fact it seems City players didn't know that had they scored another goal to make it 4-2 they would have qualified Top of the group and avoided Barca.

Anyway, mpira ni mpira, February is quite far away, who knows what the Jan transfer, injuries, etc etc will bring. But hio ni kibarua I'm glad we've avoided

Not sure Bayern were wishing to draw Arsenal.
Everything is possible, Arsenal knocked out RMadrid and Juventus on the way to 2006 final

Shame on you

No they hadn't qualified, it was the knock-out phase not group stage. One more goal from Arsenal would have knocked them out......if we had scored the 2 goal early on in the second half i believe we would have gone on grab the all important third goal. Anyway that's in the past now, we have another opportunity to correct the mistakes we made in the first leg at the Emirates.

I think we would have won that match by 3 or 4 goals kama si red card ya Lehmann early in the first half. Its a pity Pires had to be sacrificed that night to make way for Almunia....that move left us exposed on the flanks. Anyway we held them off for almost 80 min with 10 men.

In the same breath, I hope you also believe that, against aseno had Napoli scored their 2 goals early, then they would have scored the vital third to eliminate aseno from CL knock-out stage.
