The wife is on her 3rd pregnancy.

She’s been suffering immensely due to contraceptives (used them for 10 yrs) & wants to end the suffering.

Sometimes the hubby uses condoms but NOT always as he claims the sweet aint good while rolled with the paper.

Source of conflict:

Wife wants hubby to do a vasectomy (reason: she’s done enough already,(used contraceptive for 10yrs,bore 3 kids among others)

Hubby wants the wife to do a tubaligation(reasons? –ati ‘you never know!’) duuh!!

Other than this it’s a one lovely couple; the husband so much in love & very caring. The wife is supportive & much in love too,but they can’t agree on this one issue.

Who do you think should do it? & why?

The permanence of the two methods is just too scary. Don't think I can advocate for any. My thots.

'bore 3 kids among others'

Among others? Which others?

Have they thought of NFP -Natural Family Planning? I would advocate for it. Its natural and nature never contradicts itself.

Some good guidance and they will be good to go. By the way NFP depends more on the man(hubby) than the lady (wife).

Does among others refer to abortions committed ama ni nini hii?

Sounds like morning talk show material - anyway, whoever feels the pinch should do something abt it - ergo - she should go for TL. Close the warehouse. I think with guys they fear it means the same thing as castration ....ignorance...and perhaps some degree of jingoism.

And you say she has been 'suffering' - can you explain what you mean? Is it the pregnancies are too close to each other? is taking the pill such a big deal or what? How exactly is she suffering? If she was on her fifth child at 26 years then that can qualify as suffering. If she has had to have abortions because of poor family planning...that too is another matter...(part of which she will have to answer for in a different plane to HIM).

The problem with equality is that we desire that it be with those that have more than us rather that those that have less

I can see how most people are still very afraid to make a decision here

For her health’s sake, she shouldn’t try another baby (3rd one kind of risk which theyr trying to manage) 4th one will be a death sentence.

@sasha & others who don’t have anything to say…so u should know, its sacrifices she took like quitting a high profile career in SA to take care of the kids & a terminally ill mom-inlaw)-a decision she never regrets anyway.

@gichini...it’s a good one but not very ideal cos there’s a risk getting PG. Its ngumu to ask ur hubby to wait till ur ‘safe’… haweswait

@kishtash…mmmhh,one has to go down!!!!!!!
