I support the strike. Devolving some services actually means TRIBALIZING these services and slowly balkanizing the country. Terrible idea, and Uhuruto must come back to their senses and reject this madness {oh I forgot....they will be accused of stifling devilution-catch22}.

I feel the medical professionals. Being under county govt for such essential services is demotivating.

BUT, I blame them for not raising this thing early enough. In 2010. Shame on you Shame on you They just followed the euphoria?

The HSC draft bill has been pending in parliament since 2010.

that bill cannot do anything so long as it's inconsistent with the constitution!

Think about a newly qualified Doctor whose surname is an 'O' applying for a job in Kirinyaga county.

Huko hata ni mbali, anza hapo next door in Machakos. Non-Kamba doctors have been explicitly informed they are unwanted, that they are only there to be seen but not heard from.Sad

I may be wrong but it could be brought in as a constitution amendment bill.

I support the health workers. People criticizing them for this strike know nothing about what they have been going through since the county governments were installed.

How many kamba, maasai teso taita njemps or digo doctors do we have? If we start tribalizing work stations only central and luo nyanza will have enough personnel!

I believe in devolution. But there are some things which you don't hand over all the locks and keys to the county fellows. What will happen in Turkana county?

Why don't the counties just setup their own county hospitals and allow gov't to deal with the other major health issues?

Or maybe the National Govt will use the health workers to show how these county governments are a sham, and overrated, incite the public n parliament against them and eventually have them cut to size. .....politics is war by other means, strategies and tactics flow relentlessly.
