African teams must believe that they can beat the best, give us any group!

I think group B, G and D are the "groups of death".

Group G is the the toughest.

Some groups are only tough coz of perception rather than reality!

IMO I think group B of Spain, Holland, chile & Australia is the group of death. From an Arican perspective Group D might look tough but lets face it, Germany will most probably be the group winners with Portugal being the favorites to qualify in 2nd.

Group D England, Italy and Uruguay also qualifies as a group of death.

Nigeria, Algeria and Ivory Coast can qualify from their groups.

The only African team with a difficult draw is Ghana. Kundi la kifo hilo.

This time Africa has no excuses. Heck even Algeria could advance.

Let's analyze the draw further into the knock-out stages, in the last 16 we might have Brazil Vs Spain/Holland. The furthest England can go is the q/f because they would have to beat either Brazil, Spain, Holland or Chile to advance to the semis.

We are all set or or a Brazil/Argentina final but I think the teams in the semis will be Brazil, Spain/Holland, Germany & Argentina.

Chile are one of the best teams in South America, with Arturo Vidal, Alexis Sanchez and Eduardo Vargas in the team I wouldnt be surprised if they topped group B. They recently thrashed England at Wembley....

Since when did England become the yardstick of measuring good teams? England is nothing, its only better than Kenya, Tahiti and Djibouti.

I harbor the same opinion. Only Ghana is in a difficult group. The rest can advance.

Yes can is the operative term here because the experience of the last two world cups has taught us that African teams will likely dissapoint.

As I said in the other thread, African teams have Europeanized their game too much and they are trying to beat Europeans at their own game, something that is difficult to do. Europeans teams do not even need to work hard at countering such a strategy. It comes naturally. CIV is the worst culprit in this regard.
