I don't think Tanzanians are lazy, they just have too much of undugu spirit. I think the youth in Mt Kenya regionj are the laziest in the world.
I traveled to Nyeri and Murang'a last week and there was mung'etho in all trading centers and all road signs have been sold off to scrap dealers.

It is the opposite.Muranga county has produced many companies, banks,SACCOS,etc.

Kweli kabisa but that was in the past. The wazees who were brains behind the Saccos ,banks and Rive road enterprises have or are retiring and have no successors because the youth are wasteful and have been become slaves of the same institutions their fathers built. They borrow to partake liquor and women are in charge of most homesteads.

@Impunity et al, aren't we celebrating 50yrs of misery and squalor and wasting an extra day. At least in pausing to celebrate Mandela's life for even a week has got to be more rewarding to ones conscience, soul and imagination. I wonder what celebrating 50yrs means to a 50yr old in Turkana and Wajir?

Kenyans are also very lazy it's only that Tanzania is a more lazier thanks to a culture that also has other benefits. One of the problems in our country is that we believe we are very hard working and great which is very far from the truth. Examples are abound for our laziness as well.

So according to your theory, on a personal level poor people should not celebrate their birthdays because they haven't achieved much in life. Warring couples shouldn't celebrate their anniversaries etc....

I hope we are not confusing 'days of mourning' with 'Holidays'...

Otherwise can we all have a moment of silence for our dead brain cells

Just google ANC Tanzania and you will find out why....

@Madollar Applause Applause Applause well said. We don't appreciate history in the same way our brothers do, and our conscience is like what someone said kama ngiri......While Kenya was cossying with the aparthied regime and declaring some useless non-alignment nonsense Tz was actively sponsoring the guerilla movement of the ANC. By what stick do we measure laziness?
