Nyandarua, Kenya: Former head teacher in Engineer division, Nyandarua County has been nabbed growing bhang in a greenhouse. The bhang worth millions of shillings was discovered in the state of the art greenhouse where tomatoes were also been grown. Incidentally, last year CID officers raided a farm in the same area and discovered poppy plant which is used to manufacture heroin. On Thursday morning, regular and administration police officers raided one of the leading farms where they discovered the drugs. The retired teacher identified as Kariuki Muthumbi alleged that the bhang belonged to his close friend. “My friend requested that I lease him a section of the greenhouse to grow some flowers and am shocked to learn that it’s bhang,” he said. Senior government officers who visited the vast farm expressed their concern over an increase in bhang growing in the area with many farmers planting it in greenhouses. Addressing the press, Nyandarua South OCPD Samson Munyao said they were acting on a tip-off from members of the public. He said that initial details indicated that the former teacher has been in the business for years before his illegal trade was exposed. This Kariuki thinks we dont know the meaning of friend. No wonder my neighbour with whom we bought greenhouses at the same time is putting up an apartment block while I struggle with growing tomatoes and can barely make ends meet.

They are at it again!!!! http://www.standardmedia...f-growing-bhang-in-farm[/quote] Why arrest an old man who is growing only 4 plants for his own medicinal use. Why are the police pretending they don't know that 90% of bangi sold in Nairobi comes from bungoma and kisii and passes numerous road blocks to reach the city.

Some states in US and Canada have legalised it. In Netherlands it has been "legal" since 1976. In 2017, the Dutch parliament voted to allow cultivation of the crop. In Morocco, despite it being illegal, It has boosted its tourism with thousands coming to sample the cannabis. Morocco remains the world's biggest producer and exporter of Cannabis resin. Back home, in 2011 ago, some farmers in Kinangop area were supplied Opium seeds which they cultivated and exported as flower stems to Europe where they sold a stem for as much as 30 Euros. link When the government learned of it, They arrested the farmers and destroyed the crop. Despite the fact that the crop was purely for export and no harm whatsoever was done to the local population other than to the local bees which got into frenzy of producing tonnes of honey Kenyan government needs to change its thinking and approach and legalise Marijuana and opium for export markets rather than playing catch up 20 years too late when other countries are already well ahead. In the next 10 years, Most European Countries will have some legal leeway in Cannabis consumption and only countries like Morocco will have an upper hand in marketing its Cannabis produce there. Besides exporting it, it should be used in manufacture of pain killers, cannabis oil ointments and other medication for local and export markets. They should also open tourist cafes ( Yes I said tourists ndio wapeleke wazimu kwao) for taking recreational cannabis. Like cannabis joints, Cannabis Chocolate, cannabis drinks. Even Cannabis hotels with cannabis saunas etc (that's their problem) Such an Industry, if well regulated and implemented with Zero tolerance on local consumption can create more Jobs than Chinese investors who come with their own Chinese work force , Chinese food Chinese everything. But knowing what Kenya is like, don't be surprised if the industry is hijacked by some white people and as kawaida , Kenyans will be employed as labourers in the Cannabis farms. FYI Bhang / Cannabis was banned by the colonial government on 1st January 1914.(Na tunafuata Nyayo 100 + years later) I guess until the colonial master lifts the ban, It wont be happening soon anytime soon

Solve our reliance to charcoal and fire-wood?

But that green tree aki! Must speak the truth, our poverty is largely due to how brain washed we are with fake values and lies rather than "interest rate" and "SGR" arguments, we are stupid people lusting after money which we dont understand, if America sneezes, the whole world catches a cold, alafu unaona babylonian mjinga akitupa pesa kwa stock market blue section, without financial reforms, waste of time, money goes to illuminati and akina soros, wait for the next sneeze from america, coming soon.
