The Amani Coalition leader
Musalia Mudavadi has asked
former VP Kalonzo Musyoka
not to transfer his
frustration after the March 4
election loss to him.
Mudavadi said it has now
become fashionable for
some politicians with failed
ambitions to excuse and
transfer their weaknesses by
blaming him. He said
nothing stopped Kalonzo
from contesting presidential
elections but he chose to
play second fiddle and ride
on the shoulder of Raila.
He said he could not have
been Kalonzo’s enemy when
the former VP approached
him for a joint ticket but
later joined Raila as running
mate.
“If my memory serves me
right, the former VP is
reversing history. He walked
out of the G7 voluntarily
after failing to negotiate a
position. I was never a
member of G7”, he said.
“He made his bed, let him
lie on it”, he said while
addressing a homecoming
party of UDF MCA Jackson
Swadi for Kabwareng, Aldai
in Nandi County. He was
accompanied by Nandi
Governor Cleophas Langat.
“I doubt he is being sincere
with himself. His Achilles
Heel is inability to explain
to Kenyans how he became
VP if he knew elections were
rigged in 2007. He ought to
be ashamed for the betrayal
rather than turning
aggression on me”, the
former Deputy Prime
Minister and UDF leader
said.
Mudavadi was reacting to an
interview in Sunday Nation
where the former VP said he
was undermined in
preference to Mudavadi by
Kibaki men. “He seems to
be a tortured soul. You
almost feel pity for a man
who is perennially in denial.
But sulking is not
leadership”, said the Amani
leader.
