Bure Kabisa... Morgan should have won it.. The money would have been a boost to my cousins and my uncle Bob! I bet he would have injected the little coins in the stock exchange and some here to tease the other cousin Odinga!

I hope he will hear our cries and donate the full amount to resettle the IDPs in Kenya, assist Morgan to oust Bob,and tip Baks and Odinga to resign and allow good leaders to take over.. now that he is a peace maker!

This is a great choice considering his campaign for change which included change in Americas relations to other nations (including the middle east and muslims) and his ideas on green economies.

Geko,

Obama is not a kenyan. You need to read kenya's constitution;the citizenship part and see he is not a kenyan.BUT HE CAN BE A KENYAN if he wants.

FUNDAH,

When did Obama become a Kenyan? The kenyan in Obama is just a sperm ...then the donor disappeared.

The prize seem to have been awarded based on PEACE INTENTIONS and not achievement.

Obama has his predecessor to thank - Dubya lowered the standards of 'peace' so low such that when Obama reached out to adversaries,it looked genius. Obama seems to want to make a positive difference of revolutional proportions.

I was routing for Bax,though.

even though his award is truly controversial,he becomes the fourth us president to be awarded this award...

but who knows, the norwegian committee have given him to lure him to stand for peace (now that he is the most powerful person in the world) than waste his time & effort thinking otherwise..

Point A - One of the least-deserving winners of the prize in history.

Point B - One of the most politically correct and best strategic decision by the committee in history.

Hata hivyo,I am happy for him and proud because of his Kenyan roots. At this point I dont give a s*** about whether he deserved to win or not?

On a separate note,Wangaari Maathai was being interviewed by Al Jazeera and CNN simultaneously. The Kenyan connection? Sidhaani. A prophet is always without honor in his or her home.

And what did Obama have to say for himself?

'To be honest,I do not feel that I deserve to be in the company of so many of the transformative figures who've been honored by this prize men and women who've inspired me and inspired the entire world through their courageous pursuit of peace.

But I also know that throughout history the Nobel Peace Prize has not just been used to honor specific achievement; it's also been used as a means to give momentum to a set of causes.'

The main contribution of Obama for which he has deserved the Nobel is as follow:

It took 200 years to USA to get the respect of the World.

It took 8 years of savage foreign and domestic policy to Bush to destroy not only the world as we knew it but also to destroy the respect that the world had for America.

It took 1 day to the American people voting Obama as president to restore that respect. That is quite an achievement for the American People and for Obama who is now representing them..

The Nobel Prize Committee has just secured a place in American foreign and military policy. Whenever Obama is making tough decisions,he will have to consider that he is a nobel laureate, which can put him into conflict with American interests.

I am convinced that the Nobel Prize committee wanted to be found on the right side of history. It is said that the committee sometimes awards the prize on a principle of activism-Yitzak Rabin,Shimon Perez and Yasir Arafat. In other words, the committee likes to push certain agendas of their own through the winners.Only time will tell the success or lack thereof,of their strategy.

I think Obama has achived something which few years ago people thought was unachievable ; winning an election as a minority and giving the whole world hope for a better future.
