perhaps the clarification that needs to be done is that mali ya umma is not mali ya maskini. public resources don't belong to the poor! public resources are supposed to assist us do stuff that we cannot do individually!

boss you are barking up the wrong tree on this. I said government is there to do what we cannot do as individuals!! Security, Building roads, Military!! clearly government has absconded in keeping civil servant salaries updated BUT PUBLIC RESOURCES IS NOT MONEY THAT BELONGS TO THE POOR!! if you don't agree with that GO SWALLOW BLADES!!

Seems some matters are just too complex for you to understand

But I've always wondered, sometimes aloud, China brings its prisoners to do construction work here; why can't we use our prisoners to put up houses for ALL our officers?

After free food and housing and the recently introduced beauty contests, what exactly do prisoners do? Nani alumni hapa?

Or worst case scenario, the technical schools from NYS, polytechnics, Universities et al. Infact the construction can be used as 'attachment' to improve a CV and give experience.

35k is peanuts? Go to hell! Find out what Ugandans, Ethiopians, Sudanese, Ugandans, Tanzanians, Rwandese, congolese, burundis are paid, before yapping away alongside our pathetic media. Probably LESS THAN HALF! Noisy clueless kenyans!

I thought the same too, doing such an investigative piece then leave it hanging, no conclusion at all.

Ulinyimwa usiku au nini? That is for your most elite unit Recce who undergo training worth millions per serviceman/woman to guard your Head Of State, foreign VIPs and engage in special Ops just to be poached by private sector organizations or high profile individuals. The Sudanese & Congolese are your yardstick?? Buure kabisa.

Your work will form a large part of your life the only way to be trully satisfied is to love what you do.

A quick glance at the payslip and i could see that the officer is servicing a loan with a monthly repayment of 20,000..

The pay is enough for an economy like Kenya, people should not expect to get rich from a salary

Please do tell us where can one get any decent housing for that? Or you are OK with slum dwelling for the Presidential guard?
