Interesting career choice. Hope shukua deosn't suffer a brain explosion and stuff him up somewhere down the line.

Good thing though all Treu's teams are very conditioned and very speedy. I see us within a short time becoming top 3 and eventually dorminating last few legs of this season's circuit and 2015 circuit.

Treu's philosophy and attention to detail is will change how we play 7's. His set up is a case study for all team sports in this country including our volleyball girls, Cricket team and harrambee stars. Hope Okinyi will think ahead and go do a shadow show on him Kenyans would be amazed at how detailed he prepares which is what kina Tietjens do. My problem with Friday his Rugby philosophy was not using our natural play styles. We are more agile and prefer speed rather than bondonaing all day long like the English.

Treu promised an IRB sevens win soon. Considering how expensive the technical bench is, they better deliver something above what Friday did.

@Alba, it's a previlege for Treu to grace our technical bench. After Tietjens Treu is the next best. I bet he took on Kenya to demonstrate this after SA kicked him on the back. Trust me we will soon make mince meat of All blacks sevens and the rest of the teams. It's just a matter of time before we become the dorminant team in the circuit. Hard to believe now but soon you will.

Good coaches are worth a fortune. That's one of the few things I agree with the shair! Instead of pulling nyamweya stunts hiring amurushe and expecting to win tournaments.

I didn't expect such a close contest against Portugal, they almost beat us....damn!!! Next is France.

Portugal have always been a tricky affair when it comes to Kenya.

I can see what the coach is doing with the team however we are lacking ball carriers Oscar Ouma yuko wapi? Possession is important but without ball runners who can break the tackles and place the opposing runner on their back foot.

A better second match against France; with the team attaining Treu's pronounced target of getting into the main cup Quarters.

Maybe the conservative try margin will pay-off in terms of keeping energy reserves for the next day.

i still think there are some key changes in the way they play that I have noted e.g. Playing the ball on hand (kicking in 7s is risky) not to get impatient on defense. but we still lack big wheels to carry the ball!! Oscar ouma, Khayange and Willy Ambaka do this really well from the blindside.

If I was KRU, i would send someone to New Zealand or Fiji for sometime. Let the person study the rugby stuctures down there then come and implement them in full. Grab a few good youth coaches from there and give the elite acadamies to train the brightest prospects.
With patience in 8-12 years Kenya would be dominant in the sport.

I watched a documentary on Discovery about NZ rugby. They start as early as 2 years old. This thing is in their blood. They even have high schools dedicated to rugby where learning in class is secondary while learning rugby skills is the main curriculum. It was extremely interesting and after watching you understand why they are a powerhouse.

Kenya v New Zealand is like Man U v Arsenal. The final outcome is known beforehand. The only unknown is the final score.

its all in the head. Argentina did fairly well against them. it's all mental!!! plus NZ gives us a hard time at the breakdowns.

they are responsible for creating superstar coaches - have you ever heard them talk about the scotish coach? when Colin Gregor misses a tackle the blame is on him not that the coach did not do ABC or D its the player. the glory also goes to the players!!!
