Have done it in both places, though can't give accurate costs per sqm since i did at different times. But biggest issue in Eldoret was sourcing quarry stones which had to be supplied from Eldama Ravine. Sand also had to be ferried from Kisumu or Malaba, making these materials more expensive. This is unlike in Nairobi where quarry stones (and machine cut ones), and sand are readily available. Though one can use the red bricks for partitioning in eld to save costs. Also labour is cheap in eld.

Was buying materials eg. cement, paint, fittings hapo Eagle hardware and they were fair. There is also a company that manufactures steel bars. You can get doors, ceilings from raiply. Also most land within the town has titles (unlike nairobi) and so approval of architectural plans is straight forward.
