Yes, the British deserve respect. They discovered everything that was worth discovering in the world ....from the jet engine to the submarine to electricity to the radio, to the TV to the DNA and even the flushing toilet. In sport they discovered football, rugby, cricket, tennis, badminton etc.......infact every sport worth playing except ajua. They discovered parliamentary democracy and even our siasa is running on the westminster model. Even Mutunga is running the judiciary on the basis of British law.

And now a country thats still in its diapers, and barely out of the stoneage with half of it's population is still herding goats and engaging in cattle rustling, with marauding warriors holding the kenya police hostage for days on end in the year 2013AD now wants to lecture Britain? For heavens sake we are talking about a country that gave independence to the US in 1776......when we were roaming the jungles in our birthday suits!

yeap!!! why? because we can!!! and we are!!! DEAL WITH IT!!

Little knowledge is very dangerous coz it doesn't make you know where you fit in the scheme of things.

its all about waafrica kumea pembe... deal with that too... it will happen more and more.

I like your reasoning. Unfortunately, you have over done it. Ask @Kiash the consequences of overdoing something.

Some comments on this thread are regrettable. Watu waache za ovyo hata kama ni sycophancy.

Like or hate him, we need the mzungu.

Why are people not advising the Turkanas to chase out the Tullow oil guys?

They already did that!!!

If they can disrespect our sovereignty, why should we respect the sovereignty of tarrow? If Uhuru is to go anywhere, those licenses need to be cancelled and given to those who supported him and AU at the UNSC, simply because he need's to work with countries that support AU and Kenyan garment they can argue the finer details at the UNSC. Madharau goes both ways, no need kissing some anglo saxons ass! Hata sisi ni watu and we can THINK for ourselves.

and then they sue us and we pay them billions for lost profits. you, sir, are a genius!!

would run to trillions coz of corruption

Africa is the dark continent, with dark minds and ways of life, a dark complexion and complex, a dark future and dark thoughts.

it does not matter the direction we face, east or west - or if we decide to face inwards - a small group will always enjoy while the majority suffer.

People should be cognisant of world history before promoting parochial interests.

Uhuru's administration needs to be very careful with this so-called defiance of the West.

When I look at Jubilee (national and county governments), it seems to me that they are increasingly adopting extremist policies regarding our foreign relations.

Somehow, the voices of the moderate politicians/ advisors have been completely ignored. In some cases, these same moderates have been forced to become sycophants and cheerleaders.

I remember this George W.'s administration took the same path, seeing enemies everywhere. Sober minds like Colin Powell were sidelined in favour of zealots such as Rumsfeld and Cheney.

Same thing happened with Tony Blair and co. Now all these people have lost their standing thanks to their actions while in power.

History will not be kind to Jubilee.

Very insightful. I was disconcerted with reports in the media that the President was "ignoring/pretending to be too busy" to accredit new Western diplomats ...
We are not Russia. There is nothing to be gained from showing 2-cents madharau to Western Europe and the US. There is no room for emotion in diplomacy. Level heads need to prevail.

With the comments on this thread,I doubt we would have attained independence in 1963 if they were around.
