I agree that the markets and markets control is where the real politics is, because the political space is that of meeting 'needs', and needs are met in the markets.

That is, a nation's domestic and foreign policies must always adhere to the markets, and ensuring that the citizen, the private citizen, is most powerful and free to do what he/she wants.

Let me digress and say that the problem of this world, is that not enough people aspire to ultimate power in the body politic, and consequently, even the gap between the rich and poor keeps on increasing.

Blaming this problem on anyone is a fatal mistake. Man has to have power. And power is a matter of forces. 'Nice guys finish last'.

Back to our foreign policy. Where is our game, among diplomats? What's happening to the private citizen in terms of power? Kenya is playing this game all wrong. Why should I be happy when I see 'my brother' running around to seek help from the neighbors while I'm chained on the bed? Isn't something entirely wrong? Foreign policy is best played at home.

And at home, the last thing happening is creative dialogue. Even to the county level. The other day I was informed that my license fee had risen by 'Kes 3000.00'. And my market, how much was increasing in disposable income? Taxes are increasing, costs are rising; but what about incomes? And mark you, we have everything in place except the right political ideas. And why is this? Why are we not being engaged in any true dialogue amongst ourselves? Look at how we are approaching nyumba kumi...

Whatever it may be, waiting to see what happens, is an act of self betrayal.

To have power is to be indifferent to what happens from without and to care for what happens within.
