In my bank and others I have visited, I have deposited cheques past 7. 55 pm. No wonder the bank is a dinosaur.
This guys need prayers. I once visited one of their branches to do an RTGS. The guy in charge of RTGS transactions told me that he can't accept the request because it was already afternoon and an RTGS has to be done by 12:00pm which I knew anyway. I told him it's okay I know the deal and they can send me the money the next day. He told me that's not going to happen! I take my forms and bring them the next day before noon! I went ballistics!! I told him I do RTGS at the Kenyatta Avenue branch every time - any time! - and all they do is advice me that the money will be sent the next day if it is past noon. The fellow was not hearing any of it! He went ahead to tell me that MY branch - Harambee Avenue - are non cooperative and they will refuse to clear the transaction the next day bla bla bla. At this point I demanded to see the manager - a very nice lady - who was very apologetic and instructed the fellow to process my request. Couldn't believe the analog reasoning! But after my hell raising, now the branch is my favourite because I get VIP treatment every time I go there. Both the fellow and the manager know me by name. The next time I went to the branch, I wanted to fill my forms in banking hall like everyone else but the fellow saw me and insisted I do it from the manager's office "where you can have a seat and a cup of coffee.". It's been like that ever since but I have never forgotten the Analog experience!!
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.
