Could anyone familiar with the above matter please enlighten me. I have been made aware of someone selling a plot Arusha and must say that I am very tempted,I love that town! I have asked my contact there and they are of the opinion that citizenship is not a hindrance to land ownership. My instincts tell me that this may not be the case, especially with all the noise being made about how non-cooperative TZ is within the EAC. Any insights?

Thx General. The article talks of it being almost impossible and rumour has it that there are some non-Tanzanians who have bought land there. What I would like to know is what are these restrictions that are in place and is it possible to overcome them as others may have?

Kind regards...

I understand you have to be a citizen to own land. Or a company locally incorporated with 51% TZ shareholders.

You cant buy land in Tz,plain and simple..i ply my trade there and its very difficult...
whereas we here in kenya are selling all our land to our Somali neighbours in the name of 'market forces'....
