How are the new Land Laws positive for the business?

if implemented properly, these will cut out lots of red tape, no doubt the spousal approval and landlord rights might impact negatively on banks and landlords respectively....

The new Land Laws have introduced a load of tough processes for banks inorder to protect the customers interest in the property. I do not therefore understand you. Maybe you can point out the specific processes that were detrimental to banks and will now be eliminated by the new land laws

Opportunity still beckons at sub 30.
for discerning investors.
Watch it for 9 to 12 months, the value added
will be salutiry. Not less than 60% if it maintains
the current trend.

@ Mwez@ji. Have u read it? Please do!

For one, less red tape, if u have a mortgage with one institution and u want to move to another, you don't have to pay stamp duty again as it was in the past!

Also, banks just need a signed charge and title instead of going thru the whole registration process. Saving financial institutions time and money. This saves a lot of money and time for borrowers like myself. Infact, it has given me a motive to get another mortgage.....

It has also streamlined the process of dealing with defaulters. Before that, there was no clear cut procedure and defaulters, whatever their circumstances were, were at the mercy of the banks!

There are some issues with it especially for defaulters and the spouse consent required.

Please read it for yourself.

Despite all the negatives, I like HFCK coz of the takeover potential by Equity/Britam.

And it is inching up towards 28. Slowly.

Good demand above 26 is a good sign of a new resistance level to be created soon.

@Horton, have you really read the Land Act coz that is not in the Land Act. The process stands, if your loan is taken over by another bank, the mortgage has to be discharged from the bank then another mortgage is drawn and registered in favour of the new banker and you have to pay the stamp duty again and take the whole load of time it takes.
