Most of my households - Fridge, DVD, Micro wave are LG. At the time of purchase, LG offered me a wide range of quality products at a pocket friendly price. The Samsung range tended to more premium which i didn't really care for.

I've been using LG fridge. The only reason I chose LG is coz they had a very good service center. Samsung have recently opened one. So I guess the two are at par in that respect.

I am also an LG person with LG fridge, washing machine, microwave. When i bought the items LG was more innovative than Samsung eg the fridge features 'green ion technology/door cooling' , the washing machine has direct drive (with a 10yr guarantee) and the microwave has a grill. These features we missing on similarly priced Samsung appliances then. And it is those features that made me choose LG over Samsung. I don't know if Samsung has surged forward nowadays like they have done with phones and TV's (this made me buy a Samsung smart tv and a galaxy tab recently).

LG has a customer care centre at Sarit centre and even a mobile service bus, though i've never needed to use them since the appliances have been working superbly for several yrs now. I think they gave me a 24month guarantee which elapsed some yrs ago.

I have this fridge i bought way back in 1992 and much as i wish it croaks, the damn thing still keeps going. It's a Goldstar from the days before LG (i think Goldstar rebranded to LG ).The only thing i have changed on the machine is a compressor (i fitted it with a Danfoss compressor),timer and a thermostat. If LG makes them as good, then i would advocate.
Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

Was it Lomex? It was Lucky.

When it comes to household stuff [washing machines, microwave, fridges] LG is better than Samsung. LG has a larger market share in their home country.

I think it's a matter of personal taste as I consider both products to be of comparable quality. I have even on ocassion spotted both their service vans in my locality hapa mashinani. As a matter of aesthetics and personal taste, I lean more towards Samsung; their latest offerings have a 10year warranty on the compressor! I also find the samsung one much quiter, yaani it ain't as 'loud' as I find the LG to be.

exactly they are both good and personal taste tips the balance. aesthetics, brand loyalty, price. If you love Drogba get Samsung. If you think you've seen enough of samsung with their on the face galaxy phones and need a break get LG
