I did not take the guy seriously until he did what he did today...Kudos Governor

Dr. Alfred Mutua
Giving a lady farmer a chick at a farm in Kithimani, Yatta as I launched a food security program which includes providing 2 million free chicklets to Machakos residents to fight off hunger.

These are the kind of leaders that we need to lift the population out of poverty. Not those leaders whose job description appears to be endless foreign trips and conferences at the coast.

After 2-3 months those residents will sell each of the 2m chicken @ 500bob meaning they will pocket 1B shillings in just 3 months, which is more than the tea bonus in some other areas. And the governor has promised to buy all the chicken and market on their behalf. Now that is visionary leadership.

Alfred Mutua, I hope he succeeds. Then maybe in the next election we will use our heads when voting.

Seriously these endless conferences at the coast to discuss devolution and poverty, and trips to the US 'to learn how to run counties' have become too much. It's time to walk the talk. Hata kwa job, induction/probation takes 3-6 months and then you are supposed to deliver. Seems some governors will end up spending 4 out of their 5yrs on orientation, which is a perfect excuse to escape responsibilities.

The list is endless just to mention 3

4. He instilled some discipline to Chebech... a very great achievement.

Kudos Mutua. Having personally done chicken farming and lost some serious cash , endless hustles with Kanju at city mkt when Soko gets bad and being conned by one company somewhere in Karen Chicken farming is tough.

I am sure Gov Mutua will keep his word and marketing on behalf of the farmers..
